2023 Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular
The holiday season will officially kick off in Stamford Downtown on November 19 with the 30th annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular! The parade will feature 15 giant helium balloons, KIDZ BOP and over 40 marching bands, units and floats.

Interesting diverse lineup. Any hopes that we will see the revival of Wednesday Nights in Columbus Park? That was a great community event that seems to have faded away.
Hi Jeff, Wednesday Nite Live was a great community event that we greatly loved! However we were not drawing the ticket sales needed to break even/cover expenses for the shows so we had to make the tough decision to retire the event.
What a joke. Once again anyone over 40 is screwed.
Agreed. I've seen so many great shows there in tha past, but, alas, nothing for me anymore.

Wow -- I am SO GLAD that they dumped the jazz program! (Not that it's really much of a change, since they so rarely showcased any actual jazz in Jazz Up July.) But really -- I HATE jazz!! I mean, why do we need a program with music that invites the listener to be actively engaged with the music, when we can fall back on the safety of another program of pop music to expand on Live at Five ?? Yeah, that's right: Stamford should not worry about supporting a variety of art forms -- drawing crowds and $$$ is what really matters. To those of you who are as excited about this programming change as I am: go to Wednesday Night Live, I don't care -- but then go check out the Ninth Note. They have a line-up of quality jazz almost every night of the week -- and you don't have to worry about someone spilling beer on your shoes.

I have to say I am really disheartened by the 21 and over restrictions now. As a family who lives in blue collar America we don't often get to take the kids to a lot and the Stamford Alive at Five was something my 15 yr old daughter looked forward to each summer. I understand the reasoning for the restriction but it is extreme to not consider alternatives & penalize families who supervise their children under 21 as we do.

Can't you guys line up bands that will appeal to a wide variety of audiences??? This line up looks to be for mostly the 20's and younger crowd. Not interested in going this year due to line up and price increase. :(
Laura Martin - I'm not sure what you mean? Boys II Men's fans at this point are in their 40's. Sister Hazel is considered an adult contemporary band by today's standards. Guster, Shaggy and Boys II Men are all different genres. How is this line-up not diverse and just for teenagers as you mention?
