You had me in the first 2 minutes. I spent most of my life trying to play jazz, blues and ragtime. But recently, I've been trying to play mostly classical piano. The big thing about playing fast is the need to relax and to rotate your hand from the wrist and forearm. There's even a whole school of thought about this called the Taubman approach.
