The reason I like my lettuce in pots is it gives me the ability to move them around. So they don't get to much sun and get to hot ,which can cause them to bolt.

Damn, you are in great shape! And, you had to get real loud with her, clearly the danger was real. I used to not think much about pigs, but that's a lot of mass coming toward you. Bludgeoning can be very effective!
She’s watching you lol 🐖
The spotted piglets are so cute.
Momma's watching those babies pretty closely!
🐖 💕
I remember my Dad's boar was really mean, but the sows were okay. They were always in the barn though.
So happy to find your channel. Homesteading 20 years here in Riverside County California but only on 5 acres. Still a dream come true!!
I love your approach. We live in the “boonies” and dogs are dumped out here all the time. A month ago, a neighbor found “Buddy” tick infested and half starved about a mile from any home half-way up a rock face. She rescued him and we have taken him into our little pack which had dwindled down (due to old age) to a Husky/Shep mix and a little mutt. He appears to be about 1 year old by the size of his “ball bearings.” Buddy has become an absolutely beloved member of our family but as I had researched, even more independent than Huskies we have owned in the past. The few times he has got out the get when someone was coming in, he headed off but if I send my other dogs after him, he follows them back. I’ve tried walking him with a collar (just refused to move and chewed the leash) and now with a harness and lead rope. It has been a struggle. My other dogs are both great off-leash. (Both are also horse dogs) Any chance a GP can ever learn to be happy “on a walk?” or ever graduate to off-leash walks. I know he will never make a horse dog and he gets really upset if I take my other two dogs off with my on a ride, so I’ve just been leaving them ALL home and riding alone which I don’t like? Any advice?? Love your videos! And thanks in advance 😊
Try riding your horse on your property and try keeping him with you when your riding it will take time it may work .GP's are thinkers and use their own minds to do what they think is best not always what we think is best lol
@@laydenhollowhomestead thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Great idea. I’ll try it!
WHen you have a large litter of GP's how do you keep them inside? my pups are 8 weeks old and have only lived outside. they play, they sleep, they play, they sleep :) so cute and fun. I won't be having another litter because they are so much work. I go through a 40 pound bag of food every 3 days between 10 puppies and their parents.
Check out my other videos on GP's there is one there how I feed my GP puppies it shows how I keep them inside and out
In the garden’s gentle breeze, under the sun's warm rays, I kneel down to the earth, on these early spring days, With a handful of hope, and a dream to feed, I’m planting my future, carrots from seeds. As the days turn to weeks, and the weeks into months, I see the promise fulfilled, in the harvest it comes, With hands in the dirt, and a smile so wide, Carrots from seeds, grown with love and pride.
My GP is 7 years old. She’s the best dog! Yes she’s stubborn and smart. She loves her kennel that we’ve used since she was as a puppy. It’s huge and she still sleeps in it every day on and off even though the door is always open.
sexy
I still have "Lola". I would love to see the Great Pyrenees some day!
Logan the beast! Some people still believe you need to dominate your dog, and do things like rub its nose physically in the mistake for the animal to understand. Have you ever had to deal with food aggression, or other types of resource guarding? Thanks for your videos!
I am going to put out another video on how to train your GP on how to not be food aggressive against people or other animals
You have beautiful babies.
I have an 8 week old Pyr named Nacho-stayed for this video subbed for the rest of your content. Hope you’re doing good man, thanks for this video!
I'm doing another video on the GP and how to house train them.

Congratulations on surpassing a thousand channel subscriptions, Layden! May the Lord prosper your endeavours and the fruit of your labour ! "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it." Proverbs 10:22
I love the breed so much. We rescued a GP from TX and she’s an angel. We love her. Love your videos!!
those birdhouses are incredible
Love Great Pyrenees
Thank you for all the great tips, I look forward to your next video!!!
It is so cool that you use everything from you homestead.
Great escape -anees
Thanks for the info.I use electric tape for my horses but I never could figure out how to use it with a hairy dog.I just thought it wouldn't work but the several wires oe tape close together might just work.
4:20pm. I live in California where it gets very very hot.what do you recommend for my Great Pyrenees she is 9 mths old.
What I do when the weather gets hot here my GP's come into the house on and off throughout the day to cool off in the air conditioning or you can give her a kids swimming pool filled with cool water in the shade, they love that.
Thanks!
LOVE THE VIDEO!
Indeed, gov does not like self-reliant people. God Bless !
Love the video!
So much work !!

Love the video!!
You have so much work to keep the Homestead going.
Ahhh….I can smell the puppy breath!!!!
Despite the zukes being a bit close together, as they grow trim off the lower leaves to allow air flow and the plant to concentrate on the veg rather than bushy leaves.
Yes I agree they are too close together but I'm going to keep them really trimmed down and pollinate them myself . I'm going to be putting out a video on different ways to pollinate plants.
I think it might have been the cucumber beetle that got one of my zucchini plants last year. My plot is a community plot. Between the bugs and downpours, my garden wasn't the greatest.
Beautiful dogs! Brains, brawn and beauty !
That is a lot of them 😊
I see you!!

There's *so* much work involved in keeping the Hollow going. My hat's off to you for creating such a beautiful homestead! Fingers crossed the horses like their new area. 🤞
I had 2. A Father and Son relationship. Wonder in the yard one day and stayed. No one claimed them. The Father was standard at about 145 Lbs. The Son appeared to be a throwback in the Gene pool and got much taller and much longer, 195 Lbs. They were a working team. Like Telepathy spooky between the 2. Thes boys are not meant to be in the city on a lot. They bark as a warning to predators. They need room to run and work. They are Nocturnal and rest during the day. There is also NO SUCH THING as petting them too much. If you stop, a big Paw is put on your leg to encourage you to continue. Unfortunately, they are subject to Hip disease and after 11 years, I had to put them down within 8 months of each other. Broke me. A year later I rehomed one. Previous owner did not do him right and it took me close to a year to fully gain his trust. Give them room to run and I must say, a Leash is not in their DNA.
Can I ask where you got him ? He’s beautiful
Any pups ?
