The Norwegian Soloists' Choir

The Norwegian Soloists' Choir is an innovative young ensemble, steeped in a rich history. As one of Europe's leading chamber choirs, they perform spectacular concerts in Norway and abroad, in concert halls and churches, in caravans and in abandoned factory venues. The Norwegian Soloists' Choir consists of 26 hand-picked, professional singers who have a tremendous ability to blend their voices, resulting in a highly distinctive choral expression. Along with its celebrated artistic leader Grete Pedersen, the choir achieves ambitious artistic goals through constant development.
In 2018, the album Bach: The Motets received the prestigious French prize "Diapason d'or de l'année". This was the third time the choir has been awarded the Diapason distinction. The choir's recording of Meins lebens licht was nominated for a Spellemann Award, often referred to as the Norwegian equivalent to a Grammy. The choir has also been named "Performers of the Year" by the Norwegian Society of Composers.

Hei. Nå er det andre gangen jeg saumfarer CZcams for denne nordahl Grieg låten som jeg har hørt dere briljere på, men jeg skjønner ikke hvirfor denne sangen er borte igjen?
The conductor, Ms. Grete Pedersen, is something else. She should be an international star of conducting. The sheer joy of making music shines through her. Cannot say how she might be at rehearsals but at least in performances she reminds me of the great Carlos Kleiber. The performance is almost perfect, although it seems to me that the tempo in No. III fugue is a little bit on the too fast side. However this does not detract at all from this beautiful rendition of Brahm's op. 45.
The work itself I love. In terms of performance I sometimes hear the orchestra overpower a bit the chorus.

słuchałem kogoś innego i robiłem coś innego, moja wina. Zmianę dopiero zauważyłem po kilkunastu minutach. Pani Reżyser woli chór , poprzednik stawiał na orkiestrę i całość. Nie mniej wychwyciłem rozbieżność po jakimś czasie i sprawdziłem (być może subiektywne, ale wyszły na obiektywne), nie mniej nie pomniejszam Pani talentowi. PLUS.

The way in which the conductor thickens the low tones in particular with the use of the bass instruments is phenomenal in this Bach performance

There’s the original version of this piece of music, which is stunning, BUT then comes this production/version of this piece. It is absolutely angelic. I’m busy writing and planning my own funeral, and I’ve decided to put this version in it. I can feel how my body vibrates and react when I close my eyes and disconnect from my surroundings and world out there, when this music enters my body and connects with my soul. I don’t know how else to express myself. Nothing but pure peacefulness. No ego, no judgement. No nothing. Nothing, just peace ❤ 7:45
