Toronto Summer Music (TSM) is a Festival and an Academy that serves to enrich lives within our community through the shared appreciation of music. With a two-fold, interconnected mission, we programme a Festival with world-renowned artists, and we operate an Academy that offers high-level training and performance opportunities for emerging musicians as well as adult amateurs. Through these two channels, we actively promote engagement between musicians and their audiences.

Was für eine exzellente Künstlerin! Sie leuchtet jedes Lied bis ins kleinste Detail aus, mit wunderbarem Timbre bringt sie feinste Nuance zum Blühen, ihre Aussprache ist nicht nur exquisit, sie spielt sogar zum Zwecke des Ausdrucks mit den unterschiedlichsten Farben der Vokale. M.E. eine der ganz großen Liedinterpretinnen!
Beautiful recital indeed. I love the rendition of Ae Fond Kiss....it reminds me of hearing the great Lois Marshall sing this, the Healey Willan arrangement. Bravi tutti!

C'est une interprétation romantique, humaine... Écoutez la version d'hilary Hann.. elle joue une interprétation rigoureuse, divine.... transcendante.... Le son de cet interprète est pur... Je pense que le rhytme manque de linéarité..... et ne témoigne pas de la souffrance qu'eprouvais Bach quand il a écrit ce chef d'œuvre après la mort de sa femme.

Non so: leggo molti commenti molto dotti e molto “tecnici”, ma trovo che il problema non è come si debba suonare ma piuttosto come si suona e come si ascolta. A me piace molto questa interpretazione, come quelle, anche parecchio differenti, di grandi interpreti che ho confrontato.

Чтоб было удобнее. Р-раз! И ф-фсё! уже не кашляет. Оно же специально приходило в зал - откашляться. Так мы его уже излечили.

Comparez avec la version de Patrick BISMUTH, par exemple, sur violon baroque (mais ce n'est pas le violon qui fait la musique !) : sonates et partitas éditées chez Stil. Une idée par mesure, un tempo de danse, les codes d'interprétations baroques assimilés, des prises de risque, de la fougue et de la folie. Bien que fort talentueux le chemin de notre étudiant qui signe ici une récitation très étirée et conventionnelle dans un style post-romantique des annés 1960 que beaucoup ont déjà emprunté avant lui (et avec panache), est encore long... Et celui des auditeurs ici aussi... ;-) Sa musique doit PARLER, et nous parler. Mais Andrew Wan a tout l'avenir devant lui !
Il faut raison garder ce n'est pas sa démonstration de virtuosité au mépris de la sensibilité qui fabrique l'émotion. La version de Wan est certes plutôt attendue presque ennuyeuse, mais elle respecte l'écriture. Bismuth privilégie le spectaculaire, point. Je préfère encore Gitlis et pourtant...

Si nous entendons bien l'injonction de Couperin au seuil de son traité "...nous écrivons différemment de ce que nous éxécutons..." l'écriture ne peut être lue que "contextualisée". Donc avec des notions qui la dépassent, qui sont dans le goût ambiant, non notable par définition. Respecter l'écriture serait un peu comme parler une langue sans aucun accent. Comme un ordinateur en somme. Respectueux de la lettre mais non de l'esprit. C'est pourquoi "respecter l'écriture" n'est pas encore respecter la musique... dont la façon de la dire n'est jamais notée sur une partition. COMMENT ALORS ? Là commencerait la discussion :-) Par ailleurs je ne vois pas où Bismuth privilégie le spectaculaire ? Si tant est que la Chaconne EST une pièce spectaculaire en plusieurs points.
