This is the home I grew up in. What a mess they've made of the interior! 10 bedrooms? How did they manage that? There were 4 on the second floor, two on the third, and 1 in the maid's quarters (over the original kitchen.) There were 4 fireplaces, one of them on the front porch plus dining room, library & living room. They must have combined the kitchen, butler's pantry, hall, pantry, office, eliminating the stairs to the maid's room (I understand there were stairs found from the master bedroom closet to the maid's room), to expand the kitchen- maybe including the laundry room & hall bathrooms? I can see explanding the kitchen, which really was too small and inconvenient, but I can't see how they accomplished the rest. Maybe you'd like to show me, since you seem to be familiar with the house?

Regarding the interior, it's interesting how gorgeous and how horrible some of the elements are. For one, they have some beautiful paintings and wall treatments, but some of the other aspects -- e.g., the kitchen, which I assume they never step foot inside -- are puzzling.
