Catching Spotted Sea Trout, in Anclote. I was harvesting some fish for dinner when up came this guy in a rental boat and told me I was fishing in his spot.... REALLY. They weren't gator trout by no means but it was a good dinner, one around 26 the rest were under the top slot. Oh, and crediting Skynard for the background tracks!

Just out of curiosity... is franchising a thing in this particular business? Might you be interested in franchising? I'm probably the worst at fishing lol but I've been going out with one of my neighbors that has a sportsman license. The first fish I helped him catch was a 28inch black drum. Went out with him the other day and we caught a Spanish mackerel(smoked and made into a dip...f'ing amazing), and a few blue runners, also smoked and tasted amazing. Here's the kicker. I DON'T EVEN LIKE FISH. But there's just something about eating what you catch...
I am sure it is. I haven't done the research but I know there were some in my area who had multiple vessels, and they including clothing lines, and other merchandise.

It was very helpful in regards to my plan, 19 and working on harbor tugs for a year and a half and now that I’ve got valid sea time for all licenses I’m looking at buying a trawler for around 70k and starting a business young in key-west. Hopefully it all works out in a few years 🤞
The keys is an excellent place to start but if you know Florida then you know there is lots of competition, everywhere.
Great video. I am think of starting an offshore charter business here in Texas at South Padre Island. The The CHG and RCG permits to do so are fairly expensive. Apparently they stopped issuing them in 2003. As a result, few vessels have these permits here. Do you think it is a good investment in terms of being able to offer offshore charters? Seems like I would have a lot less completion. Just wanted to get your thoughts.

Paul Miller ive already been working up money and about to buy my first boat. So i will just work up hours getting my captains license for when im old enough. I wont give up on this

I've got a 19' mako cpx I'm thinkin about getting a small charter started. Just touching the surface right now. Is this boat to small? I can run fairly shallow in the flats I plan to get a jack plate put on but the boat drafts 10 to 12". I wanna stay around the flats and bay. I'm thinkin around the tampa bay area.
I started out running a 19' boat. You can do that, and do good at it. You just have to be able to put people on fish, and basically help hem catch them.
I wonder what kind of boat 20k would get
franky cantrell I paid around 20k for mine and it's a high end flats boat a few years older but still in very good condition. It limits you to certain areas but it's a good start.

People are part of nature.. it won't bother you if you look at it that way.. if cave men had some nature lover cleaning the stick figure picture's and drawings off the cave walls ,that they left for us , we wouldn't know how they lived. So leave the trash alone. It's beautiful...
A stick figure drawing on a cave wall is certainly different than a truck load of Pizza Hut boxes. That is not part of nature, sorry. I am not a tree hugger but I would certainly put it on someone if I saw them doing this to that island.

Funny thing is, I find the government signs to be as much of a trash pile as the actual trash pile. I remember visiting all kinds of places like this, all around Florida, 40+ years ago and none of these disgusting signs were anywhere to be seen, a REAL natural paradise.
