Couldn't have happened to a more disliked team. UW fan since the 70s and to see Miami put in its place was so satisfying. UM did beat up UW later but had they played the year they split the championship, UW mauls Miami.
13-0 and Texas will make it 14-0. 2023 Dawgs living up to the tradition.

This was basically the national championship playoff game from 1991, except that the 1991 Huskies would have beaten the 1991 Hurricanes a lot worse.
30 years ago but I remember both teams very well. No way UW loses, right? Talent EVERYWHERE.

One of the most gratifying wins in husky history, Miami was stacked with future NFL stars and Hall of Famers, plus future WWF , movie star The rock. Damon Huard was our Q.B. back then, had the game of his life in the 2nd half. He is now on the radio broadcast for the Dawgs as color commentator. Huskies are 2 - 1 against Miami

I'm a hurricanes fan, but to be fair, Washington Huskies were a better team than us. I'm pretty sure that if Miami's 91 and the Huskie's 91 team were to meet, the huskies would no doubt win, they had pretty damn talent, but hands down the huskies would whip the 91 Canes. Even with all the stars in 2000 Miami still couldn't escape the same fate as the 94 Canes when they lost. Only reason why we manage to whip them in 01 was that the stars of the 00' team were gone, if they weren't it would be an interesting one.
Nathan G Both teams had a lot of talent that year and I remember right, your Cane's won all their games that year? 91, I agree my Dawgs would have won, but who knows until you play the game. You got some serious payback though in 2001, was not even a contest. Go Dawgs!

Huskies couldn't stop them, so hey put 60 plus on us. The 91' season would have been a outstanding game if it were to happen, too bad CFB playoffs came way too late.
The only Miami team that could have challenged the '91 Huskies would have been the '01 Canes.

dixonmixin10 Huskies came to the game 1-1 and were ranked 17th beating Ohio State and losing to USC, I think. Canes were ranked like 5 I think. I think they went 10-1 that year(Canes).
+Johan Acevedo miami wasnt 10-1 the year we beat them in miami..they had an off year...they were 11-1 the year we beat them at husky stadium in 2000..same record as us, yet they got to play in the championship..
Debby DePrati Florida state played Oklahoma for the title that year. Miami played Florida in the sugar bowl, washington played Purdue in the rose bowl. Miami would win the title the following year against Nebraska.

Yeah they snapped our streak @ the OB thats cool but they did make 1 more trip there in 2001 when they were ranked #11. Does anybody know what happened in that game? That was the game where Washington's AD cried that we ran up the score on them & said he's never going to schedule Miami again.
The Canes whooped em but the '01 Huskies just weren't very good.
