Trail Camera Update-9/04/2017
zhlédnutí 45Před 6 lety
Trail camera update. I put out cameras on my farm for two weeks. I just put them over crossings and trails. I don't put them over corn because I want to see the natural movement of the deer. I went through and picked out the best ones. No huge ones yet but still cool. Thanks for watching.
Cold Weather Gobblers-Missouri
zhlédnutí 42Před 7 lety
On a scouting trip in March, along with the 20 degree temps and hard frost, I was able to get a few gobblers to talk. When it's freezing cold, as in this case, I found that the crow call was working better than the owl call. Give a THUMBS UP if this video was helpful, and subscribe if you want to see more! Thanks for watching!

Fun Turkey Hunt! Loud Gobbles (Missouri)
zhlédnutí 618Před 7 lety
On the farm here in Southeast Missouri, I take my good friend Mark out for the hunt. He is trigger man early on and we just knew the gobbler HOT off the roost was about to come in and it would soon be GAME OVER.........Well, it didn't work out that way. That gobbler henned up so we set back up on the field. After I called, two giants hit the field within 30 seconds! I had no time to get the cam...
Turkey Scouting; Missouri
zhlédnutí 47Před 7 lety
On the farm here in Southeast Missouri, I had these gobblers come out into the field right off the roost. It is helpful to get the pattern of the birds down before season. Just make sure you never call while scouting and never pressure the birds. When I scout, I find one place to sit, and I stay there. You will do most of your scouting with your ears. I just got lucky and they came by. Thanks f...

      @@josephhale9198 Definitely not alarm putting; putting is a faster cadence and uneven plus the turkey looks and acts alarmed. These cluck's were evenly spaced and she was clearly relaxed walking. imho

      @galinswigart Před rokem

      Not all putts are alarm putts. This is the sound a hen makes when she is where she expects to see the turkey she heard and can't locate them. A very aggressive "where are you?" sound. If she was alarm putting, she wouldn't have stood there for a minute and a half. Body language is what tells you when a putt is an alarm.

      Not necessarily. She hung around for a bit within range looking for me (who she thought was another hen) she was acting excited because there were no decoys example: she believed their should be another hen there but she could see it in the spot where she thought it was. If she was spooked it would have been short putts with no purrs to alert other turkeys in her social circle. Those calls were more of a “I know you’re here but where”. I’ve had hens spook from movement before and they never hang around that long. Ever.

    • @beardsandvelvet7596
      @beardsandvelvet7596 Před 3 lety

      warrior in a garden she hung around until she thought she had given it her best in meeting up with another hen and then just fed on grasshoppers until she went over the roll in the field. Spring turkey season and bow hunting the rut are top notch. I’d take bow hunting the rut first depending on when you ask lol. Take care man.

      @oldArmyVet Před 2 lety

      lol no that's not a true alarm putt. she's looking for him. I'm guessing he was calling then she came in and can't find who she thought was there.

    • @briantaylor2.023
      @briantaylor2.023 Před 2 lety

      That’s not 100% true. If you have the space/ability to do so, you can move around and try different areas that are just a few hundred yards or so away from where you got busted and still kill a tom. And in a matter of hours, a turkey (or turkeys) that busted you may even come back to where they busted you if you play it right.

If your interested in expanding communities by subbing to each other, and sharing ideas about videos let me know. I'll share your video and if you could do the same that would be awesome, we can both grow our channels. Also what video editor do you use?
