I'm in the market for a gladiator. I can't decide between the diesel or the gas in a 2023. There is so much noise out there and it's hard to know who to listen to. I've heard that they have made some changes in the last few years to fix some of the emissions issues with the diesel.

Sick story! My dad has a 79 and had it since 80. My childhood is spent in that truck, working on it with him, and the best part...... driving it in HS. Ive been out in it the past few yrs and its such a memory. Great story!

Have you done any suspension mods? Just got a 2019 and I’d eventually like 37’s with the same fenders / bedsides assuming there’s no rub

My dad passed in 2015. He’s had a 74 (I think) Scout sitting in the garage for years. I’m going to start the process of restoring it.

Jason, The Nacho experience is much like many of us wishing to recapture something special. My dad had a 1977 Scout II. I loved that truck. My dad over time slowly developed Alzheimer and his memory was poor at times. He decided to sell the scout, so I told him I would buy it; we agreed on a $600 price and I drove out the next week to pick up the scout. To my surprise my father had forgotten that he was to sell me the scout and he sold to a neighbor. My father and I were heartbroken. For years I felt robbed. Every time I saw a scout on the road it reminded me of what I had lost. This year, my wife surprised me with a scout. Much like Nacho, it was a base model 1975. This truck is literally a shell, no engine, no transmission, no seats, no dash pad, no wiring harness, no gas tank, no windshield, no rear window, yet the body is somewhat ok. I could not be happier. My truck is called “Bravo”. I don’t have a lot of experience working on scouts, but I’m slowly rebuilding and replacing what is missing. I hope to build some memories too. Look forward to getting one of those swing away tire mounts for Bravo. Look forward to more Nacho adventures. Michael Feltis, Kaufman, Texas

Good Shit Jason! Following along as I recently acquired a 75' Scout II and am eyeing a full restomod style build similar to what you've done. May need to pick your brain sometime if you're willing to shed some insight!

Great work on those wheel wells! I agree with you on the suspension lift. I went with a skyjacker 2" SUA with reverse shackle in front on my Scout 80. It tracks so well on the road. 33"s (90+mph) with no trimming, a little chassis rub from the tires. What you did here with your Scout II is just sick! I gotta pull it back into my drive and work on it. Look forward to seeing more videos!

I love it and I agree with the supercab being the best-looking configuration. I have the supercrew because kids but if I had the option I would go with your truck.
