I passed my Test back in October 2023 in Shrewsbury with the help of your Videos. However I've given up on driving completely because a month after I got my 1st car someone crashed into it as it was parked on my drive and its still going through the insurance to this day. Back to trusty bicycle but keep up the good content.

it said bus lane suspended use both lanes, he avoids it for a long while, isn't this a fail?

I totally agree with you mate, it’s partly down to skill, it’s also partly down to common sense.

Thank you for your feedback, I've always said that passing a driving test means nothing, it just means you may have been lucky and had a good run through and nothing came up to challenge you.

Absolutely Bill I agree. Unfortunately though some take their test on a quiet morning and don't get tested in the same way as when it is say the school run or rush hour. My wife's friend passed her test (automatic) first time but she even said it was fairly quiet on the roads that morning. Now she is saying she is nervous to drive and needs her husband with her every time she goes out. My wife took her test 5 times (manual) and has been confident in driving ever since she passed, going out on her own and even driving to the seaside in the first few months since passing. You are right though.

This is why riding on two wheels before learning to drive should be required. Situational awareness and planning!

I have to admit that watching that last one, I got caught out by the two lanes suddenly opening up, and the taxi pulled up pretty close in front (because of box junction). Our driver was left with very little time - even at ten-odd mph - to safely decide which lane was required. I'd have probably gone around again, and made sure I got into the correct lane for my exit. But I've had more experience about having a 'plan B' in place than a learner would. So while I understand why it has to be a fail, I've got some sympathy for them.

How to plan ahead at 40 miles leaving little time to check sign boards. May be make a video suggesting right approach with planning.

Unless that van driver could somehow have seen over the brow of the hill way before his overtake, no it is not safe at all. He could've waited about 10 more seconds and then overtaken legally and safely and more easily on the downhill stretch.

Could barely see 50m ahead because of the hill. Crazy people.

As soon as past the layby, the cam vehicle should be ready and prepared to move lane to overtake the slow moving vehicle. By slowing down then attempting to overtake they are reducing their options and safety and others safety because of speed difference. Something else this learner needs to work on. Slowing down for a situation is not always the safest option.

You have to make good progress

It's a dual carriageway. If you're doing 70 then slow down to 30 when the offside lane is empty and you could just keep going, it's evidence of a huge lack of anticipation and planning ahead. #fail.

So cautiously slowing down because you see what appears to be a truck ahead (with no indication it is actually a slow moving tractor), while keeping good distance is a fail? What if it was a heavily loaded truck that was slowly getting up to speed? It seems like the driving was cautious and safe, so I don't understand why its not marked as a minor. Can someone explain why this is such a serious fault?
