I have this unit. I bought it used in 2000. You connect it to your turntables and the record controls the tempo of all your midi gear at the same time your applying effects to the record. The sickest effect that I've ever heard is that this unit takes in the sound from the record, splits it into 3 bands, bass, midrange and high and then allows you to pan them rhythmically to the tempo and I think even randomly.

There must be a battery for the memory. CR2032 bios battery on the motherboard. The same as in a pc, a korg m3 emu e4 rack etc etc. If the battery is low, a cmos cheksum error wil show!! Greetings, petrus
