Muddy Waters Fishing

Spending time outdoors on the water makes me happy. I mainly fish the Missouri river for catfish, but enjoy all different kinds of fishing. I'm learning to catch Blue Catfish in large rivers, it's an adventure and a great pursuit!
The story of Weez - Joe was my fishing buddy in college. We fished together constantly. One Year in early February we made a rough plan to fish together a few weeks out. It turned out to be valentines weekend, so I never firmed up our plans and ended up spending the day with my girlfriend. The next time I saw Joe, he had a big grin and proclaimed that I weaseled on our fishing trip! For 25 years afterwards Joe called me by my new nickname, Weez.

Spent a Saturday river rat'n on on the Big Muddy. I started the day hoping to find a blue or flathead catfish, and found both, although they weren't big ones.

Ran over to a local lake and threw the cast net for shad, then fished at our pond for 5-6 sunfish to use for live bait. I'm headed to the big river to chase blue cats tomorrow, and this is my typical preparation catching bait for a trip to the river.

Went Fishing with Jason Saturday afternoon. The big river is flooded, so we're on a tributary near his home. It's late June and the catfish seem to be in the spawning cycle, but there have been some really good ones caught in the last few weeks.

That wasn't a female ready to spawn, was it?
Hello, I was kind of worried about that on the drive home. When I got to the house there were remains of 2 big shad in the live well and the fishes belly was still big, but not like it was.
