    I made an animation of ISS being deorbited before they announced this. I also made another animation of Starliner having problems a couple of hours before it launched.

    Recent studies on the cumulative effect of space trash re-entering the atmosphere and the activating effects on ozone depletion processes is a worrying indicator for the future. In light of this, I suggest that NASA should delay the de-orbit of the ISS before more studies are made.

      This.. Precisely! That mass is already in orbit and there exists materials to be used IN ORBIT. If VARDA & Rocket Lab could joint venture to produce medicine in space then NASA can _reuse_ these materials to build something new as well!

      @rais1953 Roscosmos might work out something to send cosmonauts to Tiangong. It's doubtful that any of the other partners will look to use the Chinese station.

    All future satellites launched should have a deorbit capacity. This capacity needs to be autonomous of the satellite itself. Obviously weight is a premium but that is getting more and more mitigated with things like spacex.

    Is there a way to distinguish the scenarios by the amount of debris and measurable characteristics such the delta v of the debris relative to the original satellite.

    It's taken you this long to make _this?_ *_"The satellite, Resurs P1, suffered some event at around 12 p.m. Eastern June 26, U.S Space Command (USSPACECOM) said in a June 27 statement, creating more than 100 pieces of debris. The statement did not indicate any potential cause for the breakup."_*

    3:18 "quick turnarounds" are dependent on a separate launch provider, ULA Vulcan predominantly. It will not be a quick turnaround. While vaguely following Dream Chaser's development for about ten years, it was only during your description that I began to question why Dream Chaser has the Shooting Star module. It is a mini Cygnus. Is that better or needed?

    • @Beyond-Earth-News
      @Beyond-Earth-News Před měsícem

      Zach here. I'm guessing Sierra Space will be looking to use multiple launch providers once they get a fleet of Dream Chasers operational. As far as Shooting Star, I'm seeing it as being able to provide more cargo space, as well as external payload options. It also looks like it's their way to provide both cargo return and cargo disposal with a single flight.
