35 Years of Energizing a Clean Air World
Cameco is celebrating its 35th anniversary.
In 1988, the Canadian and Saskatchewan governments merged their uranium and conversion businesses, and Cameco was born. Since then, Cameco has grown to be one of the world's largest providers of uranium fuel in the world. Utilities around the globe rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power.
Our success wouldn’t be possible without the dedication, energy, hard work, and creativity of our Cameco team.

Nuclear fuel has zero emissions and high energy density. The uranium sold by Cameco in 2022 has the potential to fuel about 523,0000 GWh of power. Generating 523,000 GWh from zero-emissions nuclear power instead of coal-fired power is the equivalent of removing more than 131 million cars from the road for one year.
