The Two Kinds of Buddhist Meditation - Kusala Bhikshu
The Sunday (7.7.24) talk at the IBMC on Buddhist Meditation - Tranquility and Insight. This talk was based loosely on the Visuddhimagga - a systematic examination and condensation of Buddhist doctrine and meditation technique. The various teachings of the Buddha found throughout the Pali canon are organized in a clear, comprehensive path leading to the final goal of nibbana, the state of complete purification. --- Visuddhimagga PDF Link - urbandharma.org/pdf1/PathofPurification2011.pdf

Thank you kusala. I follow you on fb. Buddhism makes a lot of sense and I love it. It literally changed my life. With love from Ukraine
The universe (and CZcams) always sends your videos to me at exactly the right time.
You rocked that harmonica solo.
Are you referencing ideas from “The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind” in the beginning?
Jaii Guru, Jaii Guru.. Can't wait for the book!
Thank you Kusala for your teaching, I moved to Thailand 25 years ago from Boulder, Colorado to Koh Samui and remember it well.
Thanks for all you give us Kusala!
Bravo Kusala.
Thank you for this talk
I sure wish I lived closer to your teaching. (please ignore the photo of me that youtube decided should be attached to my name. I'm an old lady now, and hopefully somewhat wiser.) Much gratitude for the efforts you make to keep us remembering buddha-dharma-sangha.
Great to hear this. Hadn't seen any updated episodes on the podcast and started to worry I wouldn't be able to hear any new words of wisdom. Thank you Kusala. 🙏
I love you Kusala you are a wonderful teacher. I moved from Boulder, Colorado, a very cool place, to Koh Samui, Thailand 25 years ago but was raised in mid-west Illinois close to Chicago. I now with my Thai wife moved from Koh Samui to Nakhon Sawan and rest here at 67 years old I love to hear you speak on Buddhism in a mainly Buddhist society, Peace, and Love✌🌴🌴🌴🏝💖you help me to laugh, Thanks!
Love that blues!

Me me me and I I I, salvation is all about man saving themselves that simply not true, what a deceptive lie.
Sir Kusala , I have knighted you , I can not remember if it is Venerable or Reverend haha .. I have diagnosed OCD , so ...my thinking mind drives me up the wall if I skip a meditation sitting . It may be of benefit ultimately . I feel like it is still the thinking mind controlling me in a different way ? Could you please add this to a future lecture ? Thank you kindly !!
LOL ! I love those posts ! I am grateful to hear about the psychedelics . The younger ones seem to believe it's a short cut to enlightenment ? Thank you !!
You are a delight !! Thank you !!
Thank you for the video. I love going to The Abbey. Will be back in December.

@@UrbanDharma oh okay thanks 🙏 I like Buddhism teachings. It’s a nice practice
Thank you. This made me feel less alone.
What are the details of the book by the Swedish/Danish guy?
Dying consciously is positive for quality of rebirth. But what happens when death is so sudden that the person is dead without knowing they die. I’m asking because of the recent implosion of the submarine where they die instantly. They didn’t see it coming. How does karma fits in this instance. 🙏🏼
Thank you for this important teaching Dear Rev. Kusala. Your knowledge has been such a blessing for so many years and I am very grateful. Please teach, please teach, please teach.
Always making us happy with your wonderful sense of humor 🙏🏼❤️
you are great
Amazing
Kusala, a question about right speech if I may please. If someone posts something on social media that is unkind and injurious to others, is the right path to move on and leave it/them be, or try to say something kind and corrective to provide an alternative view to the readers of the post, and the author of the post. I'm inclined to just keep moving and mind my business, but I can't help but I'm leaving the world in a worse condition than if I said something kind and corrective. What say you?
In the most respectful way , I have never heard anyone that reminds me of Ram Dass like you !! Delightful !!
Thank You Marianne, I can't think of a better compliment - Peace Kusala
❤
