Yep, I don't think people today know how big of a deal Marineford was, the entire build up of it starting at the tail end of Enies Lobby and continuing for such a damn long time. 4 years of build up to Marineford from episode 325 where we had no clue what happened between Ace and Blackbeard to the end of Marineford.

this episode had me a little weirded out because this idea of an underclass of society has seemed to come out of nowhere, and part of me thinks its was like this in the manga too, not just typical cutting of some content for the anime.
