This is Ragnarök, Italian opera style. Michel Fokine and Leon Bakst's 1910 Ballets Russes Version of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade barrows elements from Pagliacci.

Watching these locals you realize how snakeoil salesmen like trump could con these rubes....and also why so many of their brightest and talented people leave these dying bergs and move to places with a future and with opportunity....

Very good indeed. The 'cavalier'duet (I think cut short) is translated very well, a million miles better than an english one I've seen that completely eliminates the central tension between Hanna & Danilo. Only the English can do that. The Americans (New York), characteristically, leave it out altogether!

Sheldon Harnick's English adaptation was televised and recorded with Beverly Sills and Alan Titus in the 1970s.

It's a nice English version, but I prefer it to be sung in German even if I don't understand the word. I never paid attention to the words anyway. I just have an idea of what is being sung.

My parents were born in Montenegro 🇲🇪.I speak the language all my life.I love the way they include excerpts of the language.This is my culture.I also love 💘 the same translation in the san diego production with Beverly Sills later in new york city opera

This is a good state production. All principals are good singing actors- from "si puo si puo" to "e finita" and for this piece you have to possess both elements. Excellent orchestral accompaniment.
