Old Jag are easily the most sculptural and beautiful cars. I also own a XJ6 S3 and Daimler Double six S3… and I will keep them on the road as long as possible. 😊
AT 1 TIME THEY WOR .EXSALANT . BAT NAU .IS WAY BATOR JAGALARS .BEON TIMES .FASTOR . IMPRASEV .BAT 240 HP IN NO GOOD . AT AII IT NEDS .TO BE NO LAS THEAN 575 HP.
What happened to these cars with wood, leather, polished crome? All they want now is plastic dashboards, interior lights, plastic fuel pumps and tech that looks cartoonish. Jaguar may go the way of Rover, they don’t even make the XJ now. 😢😢
For all the tech talk , for all the bling music , for all the reasons , this new so called XJ was......a disappointment . Never really capturing the epitome of what was luxury in the Series 3 never really capturing the looks of the Series 3 and never making the driver feel as "arrived" as the series 3 did so well. Over the years , the designers tried to make each successive Jag look a bit more like the series 3 but they failed in a way that a darts player just misses the bullseye and looses the match . Today , with many series 3's finding their way back in from Japan, once again we can experience all that was bloody great about Jaguar and instantly forgetting the overstated overblinged over sold XJ 40's family . My own 91 series 3 v12 is motoring magnificence of a kind that BMW and Mercedes can still only dream about even today and Jaguar owners of paces and XF's just simply feel cheated when they see a series 3 glide along.
Series 3 although great isn't a patch on the xj40,x300 or x308.have had them all over the years.my favorite by a mile is my x350 superv8.they all gone down bank after them.
I have a 2001 XJ8, triple-black, in concourse condition. Given that its already impossible to find service for it, and in a couple of years gasoline cars will be banned, it will probably be in my garage forever.
First I’ve watched this video in over twenty years, brings back great memories. Jaguar sent it to me on VHS back then. I would request promotional material from all the manufacturers, and the 90’s were a golden age for videos and brochures, etc. Nothing like it today, and it was all downhill after the X300.
i used to watch this vhs at least once a day at my grandparents' house in 96-97-98. as a 3-5 year old i found this much more entertaining than any teletubbies or barney. now at (soon to be) 27 i still want to own a big, luxurious, old money jaguar sometime in my life, preferably the X300
Me too, I got a 96 Vanden Plas daily driver with over 300,000 miles and a 95 Vanden Plas weekend driver with 160,000 miles. I drive both cars all the time and I have made the best choice in my life to drive such great classics.
First of all, the theme song is for middle aged men and the narrator is speaking in an intimate tone to a women, so who the hell is the video marketed to????
Three years later and prices are still dirt cheap, even compared to BMW and Mercedes-Benz of the time, which are also very cheap. Hard to foresee what the market will be years from now, but now is definitely a good time to make one your own.
@@mr.butterworth4216 the immaculate X308’s are dwindling. 3-4 more years and excellent examples will rise in value substantially. Steel Coaches like these will never be created again.
better then the modern xjs, they stopped making Jaguar looking Jags after Tata motors bought jaguar from...I want to say ford. (with the exception of the S-Type)
***** I do believe that Tata Motors is heading in the right direction with Jaguar. The XF is an absolutely gorgeous car that needed to succeed the stale looking S type, I was never a fan of the S type. However they should not have done what they did with the XJ. The XJ is an icon that should always remain true to it's roots. It would be like Porsche giving the 911 a radical make over. Speaking of which the 911 has not changed it's basic styling language since the 60's actually 50's if you want to split hairs and yet still looks very modern and fresh. What Jaguar should have done was introduced the XF like they did but gave the XJ a evolutionary rather than revolutionary redesign.
JungleListSoldier I mean S-Type was attrocious, but XJ and even the X-Type were great looking cars, and you knew when you saw them that that was a Jag, now the new XJ can be mistaken for many other Sedans/Saloons
The leaper looks so wrong on this model
Thank, you for you're video.
Those were the days … glad I got a X308 XJR and a SIII Double Six at home. Will enjoy driving them as long as I can !

His voice is smoother than clotted cream.

The song sucks
I’ve got two x308s but this generation of Jaguar XJ that began with the xj40 was the last of the real jags
Back in the days where Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo were part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group.
I've got two of these XJ X300's and they are brilliant cars, both of them still going strong after 22 and 24 years respectively.

S class killer
🔥🔥😁
I have a Rover 75 Connoisseur. M.
Fantastyczny!!!
I have loved many cars...and my xj6 is the one i love the most of all!

Sounds gay
Because you are.

meeeeeeeeeeeee
Change the music and kill the narrator and you will have a great video
His voice pisses me off!! Sounds kinky
Is he supposed to be naked?
Monarchs or luxury. Made in Coventry. The all steel XJ8 (X308) Vanden Plas (in the U.S.) were the last of the great high spec Jags.

I've got a Supercharged XJR, with a Sunroof. Its amazing.
Only problem is how much gas it chugs
@@nickdavis5957 You haven’t drove a Challenger RT then.....Those are not only slower but break down like crazy
Genau so sieht meiner aus. Herrlich zu fahren. Eines der sichersten FZ weltweit. Frisch vorgeführt ab MFK 20.03.2015 mit 268T km !!!!
I miss the days when the XJ looked like an XJ.

JungleListSoldier Lol. The s type was atrocious? are you kidding me?
JungleListSoldier The xf, from the profile, is a standard looking car. The new XJ's look like Kia Optimas from the profile.
What happened? I used to be able to watch this on my phone. Why is this "content" no longer available? :/
Bryan Sart
i used to have a 1995 jag xj6 but its in the shop and i can't afford to get it out....this sucks i want my car back!!!
To anyone who loves this car as much as I do try watching this with "the day I fall in love" by james ingram playing xD
Isn't that so true? ❤️
je suis amoureux de jaguar
I have a Jaguar XJ308 V8
Excuse me, but I believe you mean, Etta James, rather than "Jones". Gorgeous song, though, isn't it?
My all time fav car 1997 xj6 VDP in BRG. Lots of issues with small details. Worth every headache.
I sold mine :P. I have a 2001 XJ8 Vanden Plas now!
