Actually, 7.4 ounces is pretty heavy for this type reel. Not that it matters to me; I've never thought about the weight of my reels when I'm out fishing.

I bought the 7ft mh/f version about two years ago. Very well-balanced and super light rod. One thing that blew me away was how sensitive the rod was and for only $150. Sensitivity feels the same, if not, close to my shimano zodias. Even on slack braided line, I was able to detect small nibles. The only negative thing I can say about the rod is that it’s very stiff, too stiff for some applications. The rod is mostly muscle and has little give at the tip. It is not a light lure friendly-rod, therefore anything under 3/8oz, you’re gonna have a hard time casting precise spots. And because the rod is so stiff, you won’t have that bend to cast light lure, so casting distance will be short. Besides that, the lews custom speed stick is a good fun rod overall.

Hey upstat angler I tell you how it's going effect the rod with 11 guides your going to get several things much better casting distance, improved sensitivity and it also takes stress of the blank when you're setting the hook and because there micro guides you are going to get way better hook sets because there's no slap in the line. Just ordered my 7'3" med. Looks like a great rod.

Had my 2500 for over 1.5 years and no issues. Wish the bail arm was thicker but overall its great. Paired it with the fx 6'6" rod, the old model.

I got a tp1 black rod this past summer, and loved it! Since then I have bought 2 more in different weights and lengths, they are all paired up with lews tournament pro reals all 3 with different ratios. Nice one man! One of these days I’m gonna pull the trigger on a Halo. A 7’3” medium is a harder to find size in general but would be perfect - I’m obsessed with my Ark Rods right now 😅

That was a giant bass. Some of the others weren't bad either. Bass fishing is getting tougher as the cold weather rolls in. Slowing it down and bouncing it off the bottom seemed to do the trick. Awesome!
