HDMI cables over 12-15 or more feet especially cheap ones can be spotty at best and may not work. So for long runs over 12 feet I recommend converting to SDI then back again. I have had many 12 foot cables that have worked over the years but they were high end. But I never have I tried anything longer. They make long distance HDMI cables but they use Ethernet built in and I have seen some pros and cons reviews on those and I have not tried them. My studio set up has every camera and monitor within 10 ft for my longest run. Glad you enjoy the videos. I will do my best to cover this in a video but I am in no way an expert! The people I listen to online have always said stay away from anything longer than 15feet in HDMI and some even over 12ft length so it comes down to the signal. Some of the newer cameras have higher resolution outputs and that could be the issue. What is the Output resolution set on your camera? 1080 or 4K? Remember the ATEM has convertors built in so if you send 4K it will divert it to 1080P 60 or lower if you set the ATEM to lower. I hope I have helped.

Below your key on and off button there is a key button use that after your make the camera live that you want the lower third tied to. When the key is on and you select that key lower button it will follow that camera input only! Share and Like!

@@boomtao in the ATEM Control software their are button that say key on them those buttons are used to tie a key to a certain input. So when you turn the Key on and then enable the key button bellow it it will turn off anytime you change away from that input. When you have the key on and the key button bellow it off the key will stay on all the time regardless of what input your transition from!

I have actually been controlling the Insta 360link with the computer application now days and programming the preset locations. I love the application but have not been able to switch from one to the other Insta 360 link in the phone application. In the computer application you can switch cameras. I run both my Insta360 links from my PC into my ATEM via the computer. How are you connecting yours to your ATEM?

After watching your podcast I actually had the thought (as a last choice) to connect my cameras to my ATEM mini via my laptops... currently I connect my insta360 (3 of them) directly to the ATEM via the TAO uvc to HDMI converter box. It's great...but it currently doesn't allow for any camera manipulation

@@keithbennett5179 ...oh...follow up question...if I may...are you saying you connect 2x insta360 cameras to your ATEM from 1 (the same) PC or must use multiple PCs? Either way I will try connecting my insta360 to my ATEM via my laptop(s)...I'll do two for now until I learn how (if able) to connect 2 cameras to my 1 laptop and send out 2 camera feeds to my ATEM

As far as the controls I think their is a setting in the software that lets you tap the front if the camera to turn it on and off but I have never used it. Are you using a USB C to HDMI adapter to connect them directly?

@@keithbennett5179 I'll explore if the tap(ing) of the front of the camera switches / toggles the motion on/off. I know the double tap will recenter the camera. But was / am unaware of a "single" tap option...trying now... BTW, I connect via USB type C connection from camera to the uvc converter

Are you doing all your streaming from a laptop?

@@keithbennett5179 indeed and as you'd guess streaming is not my main focus. But what I really should have written is that I was fooled by the nice jog wheel and didn't realize this unit cannot be used as a control surface for anything (well, anything other than itself, obviously). So it can't control any software like Resolve, any software media player etc. I guess by looking at it (and the nice reviews) I just didn't realize that it's limited to hardware playback which isn't useful if you don't feed the out back into some other hardware. This actually makes the playback function rather useless to me. What's left is that it's a recorder. But then again as a recorder it's not all that good: it's desktop-only but there's no 4K. I should have figured this out earlier (before ordering) but luckily I can still return it.

It also has a teleprompter feature and with a HDMI to USB adapter it can be used with a computer. As a control device for software it’s not. Sorry if my video made you think it was a controller.

@@keithbennett5179 no need to apologize, your video is quite good. It just made me realize that none of the videos I watched on this device pointed out these aspects. Maybe that's because the creators of the videos all have lots of other hardware to loop the signals back into so for them it's obvious and not limiting. For someone who likes to do a lot of things with as little hardware as possible, this didn't turn out to be the best buy. Now I can keep that opinion to myself or just throw it out there so maybe someone on CZcams reads it and decides to mention the aspect for beginners/minimalists in a future video ;-)

All files should be rendered Pro Res, same frame rate and size for instance: 1080P 30 FPS .

That’s the great thing about microphones you get to pick what sounds good to you. Every voice is different so you never know until you test them side by side. I have used my DJI Mic Kit 1 for years now and most of my remote videos have been shot using it hooked to my phone. Glad you liked the video. Please give it a “like” if you have not already!

I agree. Replay has always been the missing piece for many people who stream events. The fact that BMD is now working on solutions is a big deal. I love that they are going to use a firmware update to allow the ATEM Extreme ISO to output ISO files through the USB C output and read from the second USB C SSD drive. Not sure how that will work outside of DaVinci Resolve using other PC or MacBook based software time will tell. Take some time and watch Grants announcement video from BMD last week on Replay if you have not already.

It’s a Condenser mic so keep that in mind you will pick up for room because they are very sensitive the are! Also when i shot that video I didn’t have a Cloud lifter to help me with the lack of gain available in my RodeCaster Pro.

@@keithbennett5179 Yes, of course, I use it all the time for foley and field recording, I just never used it for podcasting purposes before. Worst case, I'll just slap RX on the recording to remove what I need to remove. Sidenote, I do have the cloudlifter and it shocked me how many audio engineers have not even heard of it. Mind-boggling.

You only have one HDMI out and that is used mostly for Multi- View but you also can display the 4 inputs as well and the Program out. You could use the USB -C out into your computer as a web camera and use software like OBS to cast it to a second monitor or a screen cast with the right software. Or out of the computer HDMI cable to a second monitor like a projection screen. The ATEM MINI SDI model has two sei outs and that makes what you want to do easy buts they have to be converted back to HDMI. The ATEM MINI EXTREMES have two HDMI outs as well. I hope this helps. In OBS you can right click in the Program out window and choose any other monitor you have connected including the ATEM if you have you computer HDMI plugged into it. That’s is how display chat through one of my EXTREMES keys.

You can but that would record in the camera. A great Back up or a 4K Recoring you could use latter for replacement of the 1080P files the ATEM records. Also for Video Short crops. If you camera is plugged into the ATEM you can record that from the ATEM we these linmits. The ATEM Mini Pro and the ATEM Mini Extreme record only the Program out of your ATEM the ISO Modes record each input if you have it (ISO recording) enabled. Also if ISO recording is enabled you get all the inputs, the Program, Audio files, all the still images you used why you were recording and a XLM file in a folder that can be brought into DEVince Resolve latter and edit your recorded version of your Program and fix any issues and re post a better version. So you dont have to record in the camera but you can. You do have to have a SSD drive plugged into the USB C port of the ATEM to be able to record. In your Output Folder in the ATEM Software Control their is a place to enable ISO recording at the bottom and to name that recording as well. Disk staus and record button is in the Software control as well.You also have a record button and on air button on the front of the ATEM but not on the ATEM MINI non Pro or Pro ISO versions.

You can use a macro to change from one mp1 graphic but not be a smooth transitions. With the Extreme having two media players you can transition from one player to the other smoothly. With a macro you can switch graphics as well and smoothly go from still to still or lower thirds to another graphic. I love having the two Media players.

Thanks, yes I know that is true. In a ATEM Mini Pro and ISO channel 1 and in the Extremes and Extreme ISO 1 & 2 have a faster ports for gamers to reduce latency. If I was doing gaming via an x-box or a play station or PC I would use those but for just demos of my computer screen it has not mattered. That is a great observation! I have those two ports so one can display chat through OBS (PC) and the other my Laptop for software Demos.. I have never had any issues. I would much rather have the low latency on my two main cameras to lower lip sync issues do to my audio coming in from my RodeCaster Pro II. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback.

My multi-view is on my Ben Q 32” Monitor and it has four inputs two HDMI, one Display Port and one thunderbolt port. It can be one large monitor or up to 2 or four separate monitors. So I have my PC Display in one, my Laptop Thunderbolt in one, my HyperDeck Hdmi out in one and Multi-View from my Extreme in one. I think that it is the screen you’re asking about.

Despite turning off all sources from the software, I'm still experiencing room sound. Could you please address this in our next meeting? My sound setup source is from the Behringer Wing, going into input 1 on ATEM. Although input one is active (on), I can hear background noise such as hand claps, people talking speaking from the sound booth which defeat the purpose of the console mix down to face stream (ATEM). I have gone through the software setup and turn off everything except the Mic 1.

What microphones are fed into the mix to the ATEM input one? It would seem to be an issue there. If all the input microphones are off on the ATEM and your not feeding any head phones from the ATEM.. it would seem to be the Wing mix issue? I would think.
