N20 is not crap. First iterations had problems with timing chain but older models 2015 and up it got solved. N20 is good but B48 is more reliable and has better internals and less prone to problems. Especially if you want to tune it, stage 2 or higher you can run it no Problem.

The N20 is great! I’ve heard of a few that had issues with timing chain but it was resolved and the N20 has since been bulletproof.

@@Miguelledesma-ry9zd currently BMW allows engines to run 20000km between oil changes which I think is too long. I think oil changes every 8000 to 10000 km should be done.

100% got an oil change for my G20 330i and the reset interval was 1 year or 14,000km. Couldn’t believe how dumb that interval was

I got a 2018 G30 530i also with the b46 engine, it's about to hit 100k miles. Keep an eye on your coolant level when you hit 80k miles, I replaced the radiator and most of the coolant hoses due to coolant leaks.

I do have to say tho, I wish G30 have more aftermarket parts like the F platform, like I noticed a lot of these plastic hoses could be handled in a different way but BMW decided to go with plastic instead of metal. It’s like they’re designed to fail. But overall the car has been pretty reliable besides coolant leakages.

@charleschen8146 yes I can agree as well. There are definitely things I like more about the G30 platform but miss from the previous F10!

Hey, I average 6km on a full charge and that’s through forest terrain. Lots of rocks, branches, etc… this one has approximately 350km on it.

Hey Jaipal! Greatly appreciate the comment and support! Our XC90 has 130k km’s on it right now with a 3000km road trip planned for this summer. I’ve just kept up with oil changes every 10,000km now that I do it myself and that it’s out of warranty. I wouldn’t be concerned with the mileage, especially with the fact that you have service records! I would say go for it! The only thing I’ve needed done recently is the accessory battery up front under the hood which powers the auto start stop system. very minor thing. Besides that I did spark plugs last year myself as it was a very easy job and wanted peace of mind. If it helps, I’ve actually seen a 2016 XC90 t6 with 365k km on autotrader a few years back. It goes to show that if you take care of it, it will take care of you in return. I’d take the XC90 any day over a BMW/audi SUV. There seems to be less Volvos on the road and in my opinion it’s one of the best looking SUV’s on the market today. The body-style doesn’t seem to age!

I have 550i it’s one of the best cars I ever owned and trust me when I say one of the best cars I owned because I am car guy I have owned a lot of cool cars. I did valve seal job coolant hoses vacuum hoses. Now car is performing better than 95% of cars that you can go and buy new. 👍🏻

This is the factory “sports performance exhaust”. The valves are open and the car is in sport mode!

Sweet! I bought a 2013 VW Jetta when I turned 16, was a good first car but reliability wasn’t there like the BMW. I have nothing but good things to say about the BMW. I looked at buying a 340i for the manual transmission, but I have to say I agree - too small of a car. The 5 series is luxurious, sporty, reliable. It’s an all in one. And fantastic in the snow depending if you live in the snow belt like me. Only recommendation is to make sure you check the service records for how often it was maintained. If you can make it happen, I think you should pull the trigger on a 530i. There isn’t much difference between 2018 and 2019. I got my 530 at 19 years old. Once you do chrome deletes and a nice spoiler on the back, it’s an even better car!! Good luck

If you can, try and do oil changes on it yourself, you’ll save a fortune. You can buy liqui moly online and change yourself for 1/3 of the price from the dealer. I think it costs me $120 everytime I do mine and it’s $315 at the dealer where I live super easy job

How do you think it drives? is it big and sluggish or is it nice? and do you think the size is nice or do you think it makes it feel like a boat?

@BigKDilf definitely doesn’t feel like a boat for size. It’s not sluggish either. In sport mode there is very little turbo lag, but in eco pro that’s a different story. You can drive it chill, or in sport mode you can open it up and know it’s got some guts. Honestly, being 19 I wanted something nice but “cool” and this here went beyond my expectations of satisfaction
