    This video describes a lot of plumbing/tubing setups that would be much easier to visualize with some video of actual condensate drain configurations. Instead, we see a guy talking to a camera, verbally describing these setups. We want to see: - how does the drain tube attach to the unit? What fittings are used? - how do typical drain tubes exit the exterior wall? - what if I need to exit from a soffit - what does the drain tube look like? - how do you terminate a vinyl condensate tube from a pump outside?

    @MrSixtycycle 0 seconds ago I have tried for two days straight and being out of AC for 4 days in SWFL. I get no returns on my emails Or phones calls. I get nothing but customer service saying you have a ticket in but sorry no idea when they will contact you. Shop is over 100 degrees for 4 days now. Humidity is 100%. This is ridiculous that no one can process a warranty board. I had an E1 and an F4 did all of the checks described per their videos all point to a condenser board. Still no tech support or warranty support, my god what is wrong with MrCool. Called Ingram water and air since I purchased from them. Same response from their customer service, no help sorry. They are all in the same building yet can’t do anything to assist. Someone at the top has to know and read the poor reviews. I’m calling Ky attorney general tomorrow if I don’t get a response see if Russel will help!! Leave BBB report folks no honoring your warranty is lawless. I spent the extra on Mr Cool over cheaper priced units (which are all the same) and no get this, ruined cars and bikes in my shop. Start acting like what you sold me as a great company…

    Was expecting a installed side-by-side comparison, actually proving by measuring the water draw in the BTU capacity output, using test equipment and software quick to prove which one is producing more or less BTU output per watt of energy efficiency. That they actually output what they state in their advertisement Not just talk about specs off of a piece of paper .

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před dnem

      That's a good idea but a pretty expensive one. Our objective is to give a high level overview of what people should be considering when trying to buy a system. There are a lot of factors to consider as we discuss in the video. We can do an actual output reading of each unit but that would have to be its own video. Thanks for the feedback

      @gotductlessusa Před 7 dny

      No, a pro installer is legally required to work on the refrigeration side of the unit. Non-licensed consumers can't handle refrigerant. That being said, the contractor doesn't need to do the entire project themselves. Mitsubishi cares about the units being installed correctly. As long as a pro is able to start it up and sign off on it, you'll get 10 years warranty.

I have a tall wall in my Living room, and I wanted it in my Living room as my exterior wall was brick and the electricity would have had to be run through a hard ceiling in the basement. Line set ran through the attic next to my wall with vaulted ceiling. Drainage was no problem as unit is 10 foot up the wall down to my 8-foot exterior wall. I had an old AC vent just under my indoor unit that I am using as an access to the connections.

It’s in our kitchen (we have an open concept so we have 2 in the main living area on opposite sides of the home. Both are controlled by the same thermostat.). Anyway, have you ever experienced an issue like that and how is it resolved? Any Mitsubishi services in KAnsas city area you know of. I called Mr Cool's sales number on Tuesday morning, the 2nd of July 2024. I wanted to find out about the heat pump rebates that are available for qualifying equipment. I wanted to know which DIY models were eligible for the rebates. There is zero information on their website. I stayed on the phone for 30 minutes, and every few minutes, I was prompted to press * to get a call back when the next sales person was available. I finally decided to try that. It is now Friday afternoon. I have not heard back from them. Imagine how much fun it would be to get service, if they can't even get back to a sales lead after 4 days! to note - warranty from Mr. Cool: warranty form dated 6/27/2022, standard 5 years parts, and 7 year compressor warranty (reading the fine print - warranty starts 120 days after the manufacture date of the particular unit). you can enroll in a limited lifetime warranty for the compressor by agreeing to the " MrCool Care" program -a bi-annual charge, providing you with a cleaning kit to clean the condensing coils. let's be real, of course you get what you pay for, and for a decent quality unit, it come down to the initial installation and maintenance-up keep on the units. i'm quite sure you'll have to replace the odd part (noisy motor) on a Mr. cool unit a few times before a properly installed and upkept Mitsubishi unit has any issue... cost + capability of installing your own equipment VS. paying the going rate for the top quality unit, installed by a pro, considering longevity... if you get 10 years out of a Mr. cool unit, for about a 1/4 of the cost plus your time to install, worth it to some? i do not own a Mr.cool, or any heatpump-split unit yet, but i'm considering options currently, and am the handyman type capable of the install. (i'm actually looking at Senville and other cheaper units that seem to have good reviews)

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před 25 dny

      Exactly! Good summary of points that every purchaser needs to consider. Btw Senville is probably made in the same Chinese factory as Mr. Cool. It's just different private labeling. The customer service is what makes or breaks the brand. We have had a good experience with Mr. Cool because we have one of their reps on speed dial who can make quick decisions. If you don't have that, I'm sure it would be difficult to work with them. Same applies with Senville and others.

    Great video and honest review. I like your quote "you get what you pay for" . We installed the 12k Mr. COOL unit and have had several issues. They definitely do not stand behind their product and Customer service is non-existent. We are having the current unit ripped out and replaced with Mitsubishi from local HVAC company. Mr. Cool buyers beware. Buying their product is like rolling the dice. Maybe we just got a lemon.

      Good points. Mitsubishi can also have issues if its not maintained or installed properly. A big thing that separates the two brands is Mitsubishi streamlines their customer service so there are plenty of decision makers in the supply chain to get things resolved quickly. You can lack this customer service if you buy Mr. Cool from a big box store and your only access to their customer service is through their main line. We have not heard good feedback from people calling in (as yourselves). We have had a great experience because we work with 1 rep who can make problems go away quickly. Thanks for the feedback!

    I’m glad you actually did a load. Oversizing ductless units is not a good idea. I have a one ton WR model and it conditions my 1100 sqft unfinished basement perfectly.

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před 29 dny

      Sizing is super important. It is okay to oversize a little but you begin to run into humidity and cycling issues the larger the delta

    Does a mini split move more air then a comparable window unit. If i got a 48k btu mini split vs 2 24k btu window units are they comparable cooling power?

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před 29 dny

      The data point to measure airflow is called CFMs (cubic feet per minute). On average, window units and mini splits have around the same CFMs, meaning they can move air around pretty similarly. The real plus of ductless is that they are much more efficient and quieter.

    Awesome video!!! Because the line sets are round (Diameter) sitting horizontal makes a difference? My line sets didn’t come with protected caps. does that damage the refrigerate? Nothing seems to be damage but I’m curious.

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před 29 dny

      Yes, sitting horizontal makes a huge difference due to oil traps. That destroys the compressor over time. No, the caps are just protective. You have to open the valves to access the refrigerant

    Should i wait until 2025 to buy a wifi module . Or is it just the app getting an update?

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před měsícem

      I believe they are revamping the whole kumo cloud program. We are unsure if they are changing the interface or just doing an app revamp. Mitsubishi is not disclosing that info as of right now.

    • @gotductlessusa
      @gotductlessusa Před měsícem

      Hello! Yes, you can! You can use the PAR-40 if you want to use kumo cloud for wifi. If you don't want wifi then you can use the PAC-SDW01RC-1 (newest and cheapest Mitsubishi controller). It sucks that PAC-SDW01RC-1 isn't compatible with wifi but it is what it is. Here are the links for the products on our site if you want to do some more research: gotductless.com/products/mitsubishi-simple-ductless-wired-remote-controller-pac-sdw01rc-1?_pos=1&_psq=pac-SD&_ss=e&_v=1.0 gotductless.com/products/par-40maau-mitsubishi-wired-digital-thermostat?_pos=1&_psq=PAR-&_ss=e&_v=1.0 You can also use Nest or Ecobee if you use the PAC-US445 thermostat adapter. Hope this helps. Call us if you have questions 866-399-0206.
