Hey guys! I'm trying to post more, and any suggestions for song choices and video ideas are welcome!
Random riff im working on
heard rolling out the red carpet by Hail The Sun for the first time a few weeks ago (great band btw, falling on deaf ears is probably my favourite song of theirs) and was inspired so I wrote this. Still needs a lot of work but just wanted feedback.

idk exactly what genre this is, and also this isnt a full song, plus I have not written other parts for it yet. Just wanted to get some feedback so if you guys have any suggestions for it, tell me! Also I check and reply to my comments daily so I will see it lol. Also, im in standard tuning with the capo on the second fret, but it isnt fully on, so it leaves my high E to still ring out as E.

idk much abt music other than listening to songs but the song didnt flow for me around 30-35 second mark (if thats a thing) or maybe its the E

@@LokiAnderson7 i think it is more on the melody writing, polyphia songs doesnt have much rock chords like you used here. But i feel like you do it pretty fast, you are very close to it

i don't listen to polyphia but i've seen a lot of these and what i've gathered that a "polyphia style riff" is a riff that's 1. long as hell (defeats the whole purpose of a riff kinda? like it's supposed to be an earworm? ig that's experimental i respect it), and 2. every possible technique is used
pretty much, which is why due to a lack of using a bunch of different techniques i said polyphia type riff fail. But yeah pretty much polyphia just get the melody, then combine it with different techniques to complicate it. This riff is quite simple tho.
This uses too many power chords and not enough "jazzy" chords, and the segments don't mesh together fluidly, so it's not really similar to Polyphia. Not necessarily a bad thing tho, it's more similar to 90's math rock.
yeah thats why i said Polyphia type riff failed. I agree though, but I have a riff I wrote which I think is maybe closer to modern math rock, will probably post in like a day or two
