    I just placed my HDD in to my 7608NI-i2/8p and the beeping started as yours was. Sort of three long and two short. I was about to do something drastic as well. Then I saw your video. Very good Chris. Life saving (so to speak) - very much appreciated.. It is strange that Hikvision are still selling their 7600 series with the same issue after almost 3 years. Thanks.

    Can I go from plastic blade to a metal blade

    • @cili7
      @cili7 Před 3 lety

      I've never had a plastic blade, thought they were all metal? Plastic wouldn't last very long and I've never even seen a plastic edger blade before.

    Question remains, WHY does it beep like this? Had mine for years and one night started to beep like this! I really want to know the reason for it.

    I did all that, and my Hikvision NVR still sporadically beeps (single beeps). Can't figure it out. There are absolutely no exception alarms on. Ugh.

    What size nut please?

    • @cili7
      @cili7 Před 6 lety

      Just measured it up: 13mm (or 1/2" if in US), but remember it's reverse thread due to rotation of the blade. It's also a flange nut (has the lip on the bottom).

    What size blade did you use

    • @cili7
      @cili7 Před 6 lety

      Just Ebay search "Ryobi edger blade"... all of them come up as 198mm x 50mm. They fit perfect, and that's the size that fits this particular edger.

  • @johnbmudd
    @johnbmudd Před 9 lety

    Thanks, very helpful. But why not flip the blade and wear down the other side instead of installing a new blade?

    • @cili7
      @cili7 Před 9 lety

      +John Mudd Tried that mate, but I noticed it still wouldnt cut properly due to the shortened length. If you look at the edge of the plate and the way it wears down, it actually wears rounded quite evenly (makes sense since it rotates), and changing sides wont give you back depth of cut. The new plate is considerably longer, and you have to reset the depth gauge all the way to the other end.

    • @pdquick01
      @pdquick01 Před 4 lety

      Because it wears out from the end, making it shorter and less useful. :)

  • @MrArcher51
    @MrArcher51 Před 10 lety

    do you have to sharpen those blades before install?

    • @cili7
      @cili7 Před 10 lety

      nope, as is. a worn blade looks "sharpened", but a new edger blade has to have a thick edge otherwise it wont last very long at all being hit against bricks/concrete/etc.
