Solution for sticky piston on hydraulic disk brake
zhlédnutí 109Před 2 lety
Sticky piston is a common reason for disk rubbing, especially after long term of usage. Normal clean does not help too much. In this video, I tried silicone grease, and it works perfectly well. *Remember to clean all excess grease after you finish your work.

The plastic spacer in Shimano Deore XT 12 speed silent hub is always complained. Now Shimano have their new spacer (black in color), hopefully it will last longer! Please refer to the full hub service video here: czcams.com/video/USe3mvm1NKA/video.html

What size spokes did you use?
2.0
@@zouyu4987 size of the spokes, if it is 290mm or larger?
@@KethelenCaroline-tn2bz spoke length need to be calculated by details of rim and hub, mine might not work for you. Please google spoke length calculator
Nice
Ive got several sets of these. One is six months old and has had a creak and some play for half that time. I took them apart, regreased, and yeah git rid of the creak of doom, but still play. The bushing is shot on both pedals. The right one is worse than the left. The other two sets, ive had no problem with. Also have some stamp 7s and they are a different animal. Zero issues with all of thise.
ooops, munted the screw cap completely lol
try riding without installing the spacer, i already clock more than 1000 km and still no creaking, i just recently remove the hub to regrease and check the condition of the teeth and its all ok, no damage whatsoever, i think shimano is overly cautious on the wear of the aluminum teeth thats why they use the plastic spacer as a protection but end up having more problems,
Hi bro, planning to buy also a used xt. Wanted to ask if the hub is still ok without the spacer or the spacer's teeth? Planning to cut all of the teeth out once it starts creaking
@@b23-millevochristianarcel12 yes still going strong no creaking, just need to grease the spline and teeth, i would suggest u to cut the spacer teeth straight away if u plan to install the spacer because if u wait for it to creak the damage to the teeth is already done , causing a dent to the teeth which is unrepairable,
how long the power last and wht if switches off
power autoswitched off if no motion detected, auto switched on when motion detected. everyday riding 45 mins, derailluer battery can last 4 months, switch battery can last maybe >1 year.
if not riding for a long time, e.g. 1 month or longer, consider remove battery and keep in proper condition (ambient temperature, low humidity, etc.)
Can you tell me about battery spec???
Hello, i have trouble with this hub. I buy a new one, but slince mode does not work, it sounds like any ratchet hub. A open it, and see a lot of gease in the freehub body at all the part's! I cleaned all of them. And nothing happenes, the silence mode - not working. May be you know what i need to do? ))
Bad design. Replace the entire hub with 400 or 500 series.
Yep, stop wasting big money on shitty plastic spacers
Where can I purchase a battery like that?
from taobao.com if you have access or try alibaba.com
Nice! I had a silent hub once... than the spring exploded, now the new hub is the loudest I ever had, so need some hack to make it shut up :D
Thank you this Video Brother 💪💪💪👍👍👍🤜🤛🤙🤙🤙
Thanks a lot. I had te tooth spacer damaged and don’t know its name. I’ve found it on Ali Express.
There is a possibility with the pedal body to come flying out from the axle. What keeps them together is the ball bearing. Id it were to split, the body WILL come out of the axle. The play is from the bushings (they use bearing at the end of the axle and bushings towards the cranks). The bushings are from extremely low quality plastic. They develop play, start cracking. I have successfully replaced the bushings with HK1012 needle bearing and am thinking of going with HK1014 (have to order and see the clearance with the axle). Bigger body is for structural integrity because the use of a plastic fir the body. People report swapping the 10mm pins with 12mm ones and no grip issues after that. Not bad pedals if you get M3/12 bolts for pennies from a hardware store and pop 5-6 bucks for needle bearing. In their stock form.. TERRIBLE!
I ride 150 miles a week and still am on my original bushings they are fine. The pedals are 4 years old and I've serviced them ONE time, lol. The bushings are NOT low quality.
i do it, evrything like on movie, nothing help all time no silence only loudcracking
...it appears that this is the older "scylence" xt hub. All the newly released xt hubs I have seen have the traditional ratchet sound...
Where can I get a new plastic washer with teeth?? Mine came out in pieces
hello there. where did you buy that spacer? pls send me a link or site?
Please try aliexpress, if you are in Singapore, can contact me
