Sad to hear the real John Savident passed away. As it happens a sink hole caused the road some old friends were living on to collapse. It very nearly brought their house down on top of them! It turns out there used to be a brickworks nearby and the street was over an old claypit that started to cave in.

Obviously the production team of Corrie knew nothing about sinkholes. Those firemen how many was it 3 or 4 standing right next to it would have gone down with Fred. We had a few at the top of our town in the fields then one morning someone driving out of their 10 year old new buil housing estate felt his back wheels go down driving out of the cul de sac. He luckily drove on quickly and thre was a 2 foot hole in the road. Luckily the next neighbour drove up a bit slower and he got 10 foot away from the whole and stopped just as a 30ft diameter hole opened up in front of him. This hole was hundred of feet deep. It took the council and local haulage firms 2 days to fill it!
