On wheels, skis, and floats, these aircraft were an economical and relatively safe way to fly in the 1930s and 40s until post-war, pu...

My grandmother was a court stenographer in the NWT in the 70s and a lot of her paperwork and tapes made it into my father's basement after she passed. After he himself passed in 2022, I was helping my mother go through all of this and I came across a thick file on 'Panarctic'. This had copies of the accident report, pilot's autopsy report, exhibit reports, and all of the death certificates (as far as I could tell). I am sure this is all part of the public record but it just didn't feel right to dispose of it so I have it. This of course led me to your video.

The Canadians can't understand that aircraft are like pistols that are made to fire a new bullet. In the Avro Arrow casse it was supposed to launch the new at that time genie missile. By the time the Arrow prototype rolled out for testing, actual American made aircraft flying the genie missile were arriving at squadrons. All the other facts such as the size of the business called Avro or what happened to the products doesn't matter.

I typically visit Arrow videos looking for some information on why Arrow deserved a chance, but most of comments posted here are just angry. Canada probably got shafted on cost of the F-35, but what is wrong or disappointing about the plane? It's a multirole tactical fighter with a low RCS. Sounds like solid progress there. Allso, in the late 1950s, faster and longer ranged aircraft had already been developed in the US and other countries.
