Did you have to replace any thing? If yes, what? Phew...that got me so nervous.... Glad it all worked out well for you guys!
Slip it in on short final...this is my go-to move. 🤣
The 90s... when a soloist didn't need a mic.
21:13. YOU SAID GONNA PLAY ENGINE SOUNDS THEN YOU DIDNT. ALSO MAD CAUSE YOU DIDNT EXPLAIN ANYTHING TO YOUR CABIN. YOUR A DICKKKKK. AN IMATURE 28 YEAR OLD DICKKKK
Calm down pumpkin. He was intentionally not creating unnecessary unrest in the cabin, which would serve only to bring more stress onto himself, affecting judgement and safety.
So what was causing the hot door?
This is a 210L ....non-turbo?
Every landing in a 210 is an emergency landing.
Calm and collected. I'm sitting here wondering how I'd feel with my family in the plane. Absolutely stoic. Proper planning is the only way to go. Awesome job! Thank you for not having get there itis.
Nice work keeping it frosty.
I love how you didn't dick around and declared an emergency and landed right away. Too many pilots soldier ahead, racing to their graves. Nothing is too important than the safety of everyone on board. I'd rather everyone be mad at me for not getting to destination on time than for us to all end up in a smoke billowing crater somewhere. You are the type of pilot all pilots should strive to emulate. Great job 👏 👍
This was rally great, tutorial, of a great young pilot, on how to stay cool, and prefessional when things go bad@ I loved it@
You are just an amazing pilot.
Long live New Orleans ❤️
I like how they play a song written and preformed by a guy who died in a plane crash. RIP John Denver
Great job.
Gosh, imagine being a part of that HUGE and great sound!
I once flew from Point Mugu NAS to China Lake with 6 guys in a Navy Cessna 210. Tight but workable, unless someone has been eating bean and cheese enchiladas....
Thats not good playing John Denver!!!
In my opinion this pilot probably waited too long to get his plans on the ground. Many more dire circumstances could have developed including engine fire which he could not predict. My uncle, Wild Bill Fitzsimmons, started flying in the 1920's ans was a barnstormer and, eventually, a corporate pilot. He last flew at age 83. I earned a priv😅ate license at his inspiration. I will always remember him stating, "There are old pilots and bold pilots but very few old, bold pilots."
Great video, but please don't end up on the Aviation Safety Network website.
The 210 really is a bad ass ✅🤙
OUTSTANDING LDG
Its not the middle of no where...I live here. Sorry, Albatross was closed. Hope it was a quick and easy fix. I could have taken you around and showed you the sights.
Very professional without any sign of stress or panic! Congratulations. I wonder if the John Denver background track was chosen on purpose? And I don't mean the title!
Did the ladys fly again after that experience?
You had me til country road lol. Nice job!
No decimal points in reported altitude!
This reaffirms within me that flying is not safer than driving. When your aircraft engine quits running you have a greater chance of crashing to your death than if your car engine quits running on the highway.
You are playing John Denver before you go into an emergency mode. I do not know what to say about that.
Would be nice to have some details on w&b fuel on board etc to fit 6 guys in plane and remain legal
As a former 135 freighter B55, A36, C402, I would have stayed high and spiraled down near the runway.
Nice landing under pressure!
My dad had a 210 Centurion. It was a blast, learned to fly it but, when I was 23 my parents divorced, it had to go. ocean tango 284
My guy definitely got laid that night for sure
Might be a good idea if you're passengers put their seatbelt on!
only in ohio.....................................
This is the coolest group of people I have ever seen. Kudos to you all for keeping a level head throughout this ordeal.
Do they know John Denver died in a private plane crash??? 🛩⛰🔥🔥🔥🔥
The one thing missing is when The PIC declares an emergency. No one talks unless asked by the pilot. Even no emergency in a complex fast 210 requires a silent cockpit. Glad they all made it safe for sure.
Goosebumps. So many goosebumps.
I marched with Wayne Downey 1970-72. During those years we saw the Don Ellis Orchestra multiple times. By the late '70s I was away from DC and really didn't follow the activity, although I tried to catch the PBS finals broadcast. In 1992 another corps brother, Scott Pierson, asked me to help out with a 25th anniversary celebration. That turned into a video interview with Gail Royer. I also attended my first DC show in decades. It was at that show I saw Wayne. The amazing thing about DC is you may not of sceen a DC brother in decades, but when you do it's like you were never apart. During our conversation I asked if BD had ever done any Don Ellis. When Wayne replied no, I said , "C'mon man that music would be perfect for you guys." The next year this show appeared. When I saw Wayne again I said, "Hey dude you owe me dinner." He gave me his staccato laugh and said, "Sure". I never did collect the dinner, but I was right. Don Ellis and BD was a perfect fit!
This is also why I think 10-20 hours of sailplane training should precede PPL training.
We from the headline of the video might be why there’s been no more videos posted Government put him in the big house 😂😂😂😂😂 hopefully not I think a person otta be able to consume the drink of choice
Dick move playing John Denver buddy.
did you ever let those people know you landed? lol they mist think you're still up there =P
Im not a pilot but ive always wondered why the pilot and the control tower persons talk to one another so damn fast, i cant make out hardly anything they say to each other, why not talk in a normal fashion, like people normally talk ? Thats always mistified me, do they train to speak that way , and for what reason ? I mean ,,,they all do this , why ?
I’m a student pilot, so I’m no pro. But the reason for it is brevity and precision. Within an hour ATC may go through over 100 aircraft all trying to get airborne ASAP. Ensuring safe and effective communications is key. It’s also to ensure 9/11 like events don’t ever happen again, there’s a more constant reporting and tracking for all planes in the air. For a while I wasn’t able to talk very fast, but now I can pretty well understand it. Can’t dish it out as fast though! And yea it’s like a different language, but it gets fun once you learn it!
If the altimeter was connected to the number four cylinder and the vacuum pump I understand why the engine failed
Those damn Continental engines
Well done sir.
