John Field (1732 - 1837) was an Irish composer and pianist who worked first in London, then in Moscow. He is considered the first composer to write nocturnes for the piano. Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat Major resembles this one in several details.

Thank you! I think the most challenging part for an intermediate player would be passing the melody back and forth between the hands in the middle section. Some of the arpeggios in the final section require solid technical preparation as well. That being said, if you like it, go for it! For me this sounds more like a Nocturne, but anyway is very calm, emotional and beautiful, like almost everything that Chopin wrote in his short live.
