Agreed, the reliability/maintenance of the older 4 strokes is the only thing that puts me off. The performance is plenty good enough for a guy like me. My last MX bike was an ‘02 YZ250 and really loved it, but sold it a few years ago. I’m thinking about a modern 250f to get back into off-road, so this was an interesting convo. I’ve got a dual sport (701 enduro), but coming from a life on dirt bikes, it’s a tank in the woods. It’s a blast with supermoto wheels, though!

Awesome video. I have a 2012 KX250F and recently bought a Beta 200RR. I always wonder If i should have bought a new KX250 instead of the Beta given the tremendous difference between the bikes(Enduro vs MX). But I wanted a two stroke as everyone was saying to me that It would be cheaper to maintain in the long run. We'll see haha

Good on mate - i just aquired a low hr '98 YZ400f - i grew up on Strokers - but i can see why Doug Henry Blitz them all on the 400f - i really Hated the YZ400f for Killing off the 2T Era - but this bike has really grown on me now! - I still wish i had all my old CRs YZs & KXs - unfortunately they're too expensive to buy back now! There's plenty Unloved Steel Framed early 2000's YZ-Fs out there for next to nothing - ill be grabbing a 250f next - Cheers 👍

Try keeping the lead hand under the trail hand during the takeaway until the trail elbow wants to naturally fold. Initiate the turn with the shoulders. This will keep the lead shoulder down and prevent the shoulder plane from being too flat. This helped my game a ton. Keep up the grind brother.
