Hi, we are Tess & Dean! Two years ago we decided to quit our jobs, sell and store everything we own and take an adult sabbatical for a few months. That few months turned into a lifestyle for us and instead of getting the travel bug out of our system, it fully took hold of us and we couldn't stop our travel fever from leading us all over the globe and to as many countries as we could possibly see!
We documented our journeys at first just for ourselves and our families but quickly it became our hobby and our passion to try and frame these destinations in the best way we could and bring our viewers along with us in the most genuine way we can.
We hope you enjoy travelling along with us, and it would mean the world to us if you considered subscribing and following along with us as we backpack and trek the world!

Paradise Found | How To Spend 4 Perfect Days In Penang
We're exploring the vibrant and historic George town, on the tropical island of Penang, Malaysia. Our 3 day adventure is packed with incredible experiences, from discovering stunning street art to relaxing on the best beach in Penang. Here's a sneak peek at what we got up to!
Our journey begins with a scenic train ride from Kuala Lumpur, followed by a short ferry ride to Penang. Georgetown, the capital city, is rich in colonial history, having been founded by the British in 1786. Today, it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its unique blend of cultures and stunning architecture.
One of the highlights of our trip was embarking on an art scavenger hunt! We grabbed a map from our hotel that highlighted all the famous mural paintings scattered around the city. Each mural tells its own story and adds so much character to the streets of George town.
We also explored the historic Chinese jetties, including the well-known Chew Jetty. These fascinating waterfront settlements were built by Chinese immigrants over a century ago and offer a unique glimpse into Penang’s past.
No trip to Penang would be complete without a visit to Penang Hill. We took the funicular up to enjoy breathtaking views of the entire city and beyond. With its beautiful gardens, temples, and colonial-era buildings, Penang Hill is a must-see.
To top it all off, we spent our last nights at the stunning Batu Ferringhi beach. This popular beach destination is just an hour ride by public bus from Georgetown and offers the perfect way to unwind. From lounging on the beach to enjoying live music at a beach bar, Batu Ferringhi had it all.
📌 **Key Highlights:**
- Exploring George town's vibrant street art
- Visiting the historic Chinese jetties
- Taking the funicular up Penang Hill
- Relaxing at Batu Ferringhi beach

what kind of the jobs is in this island?
Many thanks for the honest review and not just showing the perfect instagram pictures that most people do
Thanks for watching! We try to be honest with our personal experiences, while still being open minded and trying to see the best of everything. Sometimes experiences just don't live up to the expectations though!
How safe is this place if i plan to settle here with kids ?
🙌🏻Thanks for the effort you put into this informative travelogue, guys - Tess has a very pleasant old-school TV trustworthy voice (totally a compliment and not an insult!). Am also digging the nifty transitions/wipes 😀! 🥺😱eek, hope Tess had a speedy recovery 🙏
Thank you! We really appreciate the positive feedback, we do put a lot of time and effort into it! She had a sling and a sore arm for quite a while, but pushed through. Malaysian health care was surprisingly good!
Ahhh I love this!!! Definite Amazing Race nostalgia! Nicely done😊
How to rent a car and how hard is to drive in Germany and how hard is it to find parking and how much it cost?

Welcome to KL ... HAVE A NICE DAY SIS
Thank you! You too!
Amazing video, just imagine actually doing this in warm waters!❤❤❤
not being rude.. why do you people repeating the same cliché about KL.. all the place you showed are typical tourist trap.. you need to learn more about what goes on in the suburb.. seriously its boring..
That's you not being rude? People don't tend to travel to the suburbs when they have a limited time visiting a city for the first time. Tourist hot spots are popular for a reason, they are the most interesting and notable attractions. It may be boring to you, but to someone who hasn't been there, they want to know what they must see. Next time if I do a Travel guide to the suburbs of KL, I'll let you know.
I meet many expats living in the suburbs because they want more privacy but with complete public facilities, supermarkets and famous restaurants. You can find them in Mount Kiara, Bangsar, Damansara Height, Bukit Antarabangsa, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Ampang and many other suburbs of Kuala Lumpur.
bro they are tourist... what. do you expect? to go for hari raya event? the content is for the tourist not local. why you watch at first place.
Penang is British town style …. Penang has hill town by transport u on tram hill and malacca is Portuguese town and it’s nice like old town
Yes we visited Penang and the tram, we will be doing a video on Georgetown next! Haven't been to Malacca though, is that nice?
@@TrekList malacca has Portuguese town and has Portuguese- Chinese village

Welcome to KL, Malaysia. Hope that you guys have had a good time and a pleasant stay. What a wonderful KL Ultimate Travel Guide.
Thank you so much, we love the welcoming people of Malaysia and can't wait to come back and explore more!
@@TrekList Wonderful. 😀
I heard the trash came from the mekong delta but not sure true or not. It also floats as far as my country malaysia in the east coast because someone found a plastic with a label from Vietnam. Borneo too. So it can travel very far. So sad to see this. And the water is yellow.
Oh really? That's interesting! There needs to be less use of plastics and better waste disposal options in some countries to lessen the amount that ends up trashing the oceans and beaches like this!
I can tell the stairs leading up to the cave is full of left over trash. The job of monkeys and tourists.
It's pretty terrible. Why anyone would bring their trash there and just leave it is very disrespectful to an otherwise beautiful place!
Thanks for visiting kl

Mr.Mullets hostel!!!! 😎✊🏽!!!
In hindsight, I wish we wen to Mr. Mullets instead! It would have been a memorable experience
Wow! We just came back from Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon and Da Lat. Same issues there. Oil and trash in the water and terrible air pollution! Phu Quoc was on or list of last hopes for paradise in Vietnam until your honest video. Thanks for showing the truth as most CZcamsrs DO NOT!
Yes we saw evidence of this in other parts of Vietnam as well. Thank you! We like to show an honest portrayal of everywhere we go, but having said that, there were nice parts of the island as well, as you can see in the video! We will do a full video on our Phu Quoc experience soon showing the good with the bad (though that was pretty bad!)
@TrekList Thanks for your response. We are thinking Nai Harn in Phuket or Kota Kinabalu on Boreno as the beaches, whitewater rafting & scuba were great there years ago when we visited. Also years ago in Costa Rica but had to pay for people to watch our Jeep and the buser in Burger King was carrying a club and gun. Hope that's changed but the volcano, zipline and beaches were great! Thanks and Happy Travels!
I've been in Nha Trang for 4 months; I swim in the main beach 2 days out of 3. I have only seen 2 pieces of plastic in the water the past 4 months (both of which I removed). The water is clean and clear in this area.
@@Totsujt How about the poor air quality though? We lived in Nha Trang years ago. Love the Marina Club and girls cooking fresh lobster on the beach.
Wow.. absolutely beautiful filming and photography
Thank you so much! That means more than you know!
I loved it there . The problem is that the people do not care about their garbage . Also Spanish is not that useful there . A lot of the Mayans speak their own language
I found that they spoke both for the most part, but I'm just speaking with limited spanish knowledge!I loved it too, but yes there are problems associated with mass tourism for sure
The private beach looks so beautiful- well worth the hike!
It was! I'm sure Tia knows this beach well
Good video, too bad it wasn't real amazing race.

Hi very beautiful drive, thanks for sharing. Just a quick question, how hard is the drive from Kamloops to jasper to Banff? I heard many stories of difficult drive in Rockies, including smoky breaks. Also which car you recommend for renting for a family of 6 people (with some luggage)? I mean which is good to control on difficult drive in the month of July. Dodge caravan should be ok or should look for other options, any suggestion? Thank you
Hi, thanks for watching. I wouldn't consider the drive very difficult at all. If you have any experience driving windy roads then it shouldn't be a problem. It's a difficult drive in the winter, but in the summer the roads are absolutely fine, the only danger is keeping your eyes on the road when you want to look at all the scenery! Any car that will fit you and your luggage should be fine. As far as the smoke... that is unpredictable. It won't necessarily make the drive more difficult, but will ruin the scenery, so I hope you have good luck with that!
Would you recommend the school?
Yes we would definitely recommend the Antiguena Spanish School. They were very professional and one of the best reviewed options when we were researching, and our instructor was great!
Yes sodas cheap , but its the fair price, not like overpriced places , and its better food , what amazing videos thanks
Yes you are right! We learned the hard way after spending $20 on some tacos at a trendy restaurant the first night.. We mostly ate at sodas after that, and the food was great and a great deal. Thanks for watching!
Another great video, was hoping to see white sand beaches. Your surfing is getting much better. Look forward to your next video.❤
