    Most Puerto Ricans living in the United States actually hate the United States (yet they still want the benefit of living here.) They're the ones who have the Puerto Rican flag hanging from their rearview mirror. It's kind of a messed up situation. Their country is kind of a shithole compared to here, so they move here, yet hate Americans and white people.

    Completely ignored the political ideology of those in charge, which would explain why Puerto Rico is in the situation it's in. _IF_ (and that's a big "if") they would become the 51st state, a lot of their laws would have to change. I will state that the *Jones Act* need to be repealed. It affects more than just Puerto Rico, but I think Puerto Rico probably suffers the most from it. But overall, the Jones Act is government intervention that interferes with the free market.

    Puerto Rico has to return to where they've always belonged, Spain. They were never a colony and Puerto Ricans never wanted independence in the first place. Puerto Rincans went from being full on Spaniards in 1898 to second class citizens of the American Empire today.

    At the beginning when you said Puerto Rico was a nation, I didn’t agree as I believe it is a sovereign part of the US. Then when you said PR should be a U.S. State I whole heartedly agree. It’s been far too long PR has been in this limbo and I believe it’s time for the territory to be integrated into the union. Along with the other 4 major territories. Also the US doesn't have an official language. Plus PR wouldn't be the only state admitted into the union with a majority Spanish speaking population. Arizona and New Mexico became states when the majority of the populations only spoke Spanish.

    • @poltavskiy_history
      @poltavskiy_history Před 2 měsíci

      But in Arizona and Mexico there are still more English-Speaking communities across the states. The problem is that not all of Puerto-Ricans knows English. If that question is fixed than I guess this territory is ready to be integrated into the Union. The other problem is immigration from the island, and the probability of the illegal immigration on Puerto Rico, because it would be much easier to get here than swim to the coast of Florida or other states. I’m not American, so I believe that you understand that question better than me. Thanks for your support and attention!

Also it’s much harder to get to a part of the U.S. that’s in the middle of the Caribbean than going across the US Mexico border right now. Puerto Rico has been a territory for over 125 years. It’s time for statehood, as an American, who has many Puerto Rican friends, my fellow Americans, the majority want statehood. With second coming in with remaining a territory.

      We are proud of Gallipoli, because we did not let enemy pass the Dardanelles even when we were in our weakest. Do you know how it was accomplished with having less supplies and soldiers than enemy? What it had cost to people? It was the result of pure determination. Let me give you some examples: Our universities, high schools did not have any graduates in those years. Because they all died in that war. We lost our elite educated people at there. Also, there were boys even at the age of 13 as a soldier from villages. Today, you can see lots of different ethnicities at the memorial gravesites laying down together which came from all over the empire at the time to defend that last bastion. Since loosing Gallipoli would mean loosing the control of the capital. So, this victory is sooo important for us. Yes, we have every right to be cocky about it.
