Thank you so much for this!! Do you know anything about using barcodes when publishing with both IS and KDP? My cover art has the barcode generated by Ingram, though I own the ISBN. Can I also use this barcode with KDP?

I've seen advice to publish via KDP first so Ingram doesn't claim the Amazon listing. However, I want to get an Ingram proof, if I do this might it trigger something that claims the ISBN and blocks KDP listing to Amazon?

Hi Emma, as far as I'm aware physical books are 0 VAT rate, are you being charged VAT by Amazon UK to sell your books? Also, have you found a way to reduce the Variable Closing Fee or any of the other fees? I see your books are on amazon with Prime shipping for 8 pounds. How do you make that work? I hope you're not selling at a loss :( Thanks for your all around beautiful work!

Deciding to write and publish. Choosing writing on a controversial take on a divisive topic. Spending ten years on my book and expecting success. Checking kdp regularly. Ingram sent out placeholder books before i submitted final manuscript. Working with friends. Everything went wrong and there hasn't really been redemption. I am actually embarrassed to have believed in myself and have PTSD when it comes to chasing my dreams.

Hi Emma, how does one handle the layout as a spread especially for childrens books when you have an illustration that spans both pages? Does bookvault only allow for single page setup (and trim the 3mm bleed on all sides)?

I'm currently trying to format my first Hardcover children's picture book (216mm x 216mm) on BookVault, but for the life of me, the hardcover interior files and the wrap colour of the Cover isn't right when I view the finished product in the BookVault preview. I recently followed your formatting tutorials for Ingram, hoping it would be similar for BookVault. I would be so appreciative if you could post a video on how you formatted your children's hardbook cover and interiors for BookVault printing.

Hi, my wife writes and illustrates (and self publishes) books for children. She’s been doing this for about 18 months now. Around 35 books in total. When it came to our attention that the BL required five of every Neilson registered book to be sent (for free) - I suggested that for now at least the cost of doing so would be prohibitive (especially since the request is repeated for Scotland, Wales etc - but I want to understand - given the fact that she has now listed all those books with the PLR - would sending these books at this point make any difference to library take-up? I guess not. Cheers

I had my two right top and bottom wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and yeah it can be quite sore and dull pain afterwards but U will have painkillers and antibiotics it's not too bad good luck with your surgery
