Yan is well rounded and can do multiple things.
Yan won round 1, round 2 was super close they both had big moments where they hurt each other I can see giving it to either maybe give the edge to Yan b/c of takedown, but O’Malley won the 3rd dmg, so I see why they gave it to O’Malley…
lol - bro Sean won that fight - I think if they had a rematch, he would win that one too… Sean won when he was nervous of Yan, next time they fight (if) then it would be against a more confident Sean. I am a Yan fan too, but I am more fight fan above all

That's funny Merab it's actually tailor made for Sean, if you guys think he's just gonna rush in and get a takedown you're sadly mistaken, it will be tough for someone his size at 5'6 to close the distance against someone 6ft, hits like a truck, and has outstanding foot work, it's gonna be very hard for him to even get a hold of him, and knowing wrestlers they get uncomfortable being on their feet longer then what they need to, so that might force merab to recklessly rush in, idk tbh this is a no brainer that sean is gonna take that one, don't get fooled in Merabs past performances those were against stationary fighters that were his height. Not anyone with slick foot work, 6ft, and crisp ACCURATE hands, and as we just saw Knees too, if he gets a hold of Sean every round for 5 rounds that would be interesting to see the dog that may or may not be there in Omalley

Js ive watched the fight 5 times. Twice ive come away thinking omalley won, 3 times ive come away thinking yan won. I assume if i watch it again, itd be 3-3. Lets look at facts Yan is the only guy who has had success striking with Omalley from outside. Hes the only guy who been able to successfully take Sean down, though he didnt do much with it. He gave Sean the hardest fight of his career, objectively and the split decision reflects that. But, Sean did start taking over in that 3rd round. Petr is only getting older, still looking good, but Sean has improved a lot even in the 2 fights since. I fully understand why Yancels want the rematch, i want it too. I love watching O'Malley in the cage. Hes always fully in control, he works with style and at least for the time being, technically and skill-wise hes damn near unbeatable. and I love watching Petr Yan work too. Hes also extremely skilled, knows how to make the most of his attributes, always had a few tricks up his sleeve, and obviously was a very dominant champ for good reason. but I also think O'Malley has a very annoying, borderline delusional fanbase. They almost seem to want to deny that this fight was even close, even tho Sean visibly got rocked multiple times, and much harder than he rocked Yan. Sean did deal more total damage, and volume, on the feet, so its not like it was one-sided either way a rematch would be really interesting. To start, i think omalley WOULD take it and he would make an effort to make it a more clear victory, going for a finish and trying to visibly DOMINATE Yan, rather than trying to "fight" like they did the first time. But Yan would be out to prove that he actually deserved the win that first time, as well as trying to get his belt back (i think ppl forget he WAS a champion and has beat some really good competitors in the ufc) so you really cant count him out either

Sean level up 10x since that fight Petr hasn’t.
If you watch the fight back you can see why people say Yan won, but the UFC just want Sean for his potential star power so they may have gave him the win because he did enough against the top dog. Hate or love suga he has a high stock right now. Just imagine how big the rematch would be if these guys go at it for 5 rounds.
I watched this fight 20 times O’Malley won barely I will add. I believe O’Malley would win a rematch as well his confidence and skills have both grown during his fights with Chito and Aljo. I wanna see Merab vs O’Malley that fight makes sense and believe it would be the best test for the champ.
I think Sandhagen would be a better challenge. Merab would be very easy to stop on the feet. and Sean would find that shot. Shit, Henry Cejudo even caught him clean on the chin, had him stunned for a second. Sean hits harder and more accurately. As long as it doesn't get into the 3rd/4th rounds I think sean would take it. It's a good test but I think Sandhagen gives him a harder time

It’s not mad. O’Malley is a good fighter. Not a crazy or mad concept that O’Malley did well. He should have lost, but I was never surprised that he knew how to strike.

But if he did and it got exposed. he’d be headed to prison. I seriously doubt Dana’s willing to risk everything for Sean O’Malley lol
