Hi! My name is Lissy Jenkins and this channel is dedicated to fiber craft tutorials and patterns. I crochet, knit, sew, embroider, experiment with e-textiles, and play with felt. I think that all people should have at least one hobby that puts them into a state of flow. This meditative and creative space is an infinite well of joy that is free to all people who have the tools and knowledge. After trying many different crafts, I've found a home in textiles. While I can't give you the tools, I hope to share some of my fiber knowledge with you.
This channel has a focus on crochet. I am a certified crochet instructor by the Craft Yarn Council. There’s not one right way to crochet, but I am committed to teaching you the easiest way. We will be going over basic, and advanced, crochet stitches and techniques. I’ll also be posting tutorials for my original designs and whatever else I may be working on.
Happy crafting!

I love your directions! You are a great teacher. For some reason the sides of my hat kind of puff out instead of going straight down. It still looks good, but do you have any idea what mistake I made?
Omg thank you ive never been able to do this
SO HELPFUL TYSMMMM
Thank You very much! It Will turn My projects perfect! Wow!
i love you❤😂 thank you so much for this was so helpful ❤❤❤❤❤
1-2 years boy how many row I have to do
This was sooo helpful😊
Thank you! I tried 2 other tutorials, but yours was successfull!
Thank you so much for this, I know this video is old but this honestly worked the best out of the one week of looking for a tutorial. I've watched multiple tutorials and this was the best. I saw everything I've done wrong, and I could finally make the magic circle. This tutorial works well and if anyone would look for a beginner tutorial for a magic circle, I would definitely recommend this one.
This explains why great grandma's work never showed any signs of beginning or ending thank you so much for sharing
Mine seem kind of tight trying to turn it how do I troubleshoot that?
I tried it but my recycled tshirt yarn just twists inside, instead of being flat. Not sure what am I doing wrong
I love that you complete the magic circle before restarting slowly! Thank you for showing the next steps after beginning to show how it connects to work. Your yarn choice is perfect! ❤❤❤
I am liking and I am subscribing. This 1 video just changed the entire crocheting game for me.🤯
2 Chains 😂😂😂 Great tutorial thank you! 😊
After almost a year of crocheting I finally am able to create a magic circle after looking at your tutorial!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Did not work for me it made my one look like a ball of nothingness instead of what it is supposed to look like
One of the better things about them that you didn't even mention is you don't need to turn the needle around for the next stitch. Because they are double pointed you can just push the needle back in with the other point. It actually saves a lot of time.
I somehow managed to do this with DMC Pearl thread!!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH ❤
The soundtrack is so good ❤
Ahh this was so clear! Just using “chain” within your explanation really helped me to understand the structure better and be sure I was inserting my hook correctly. Thank you!
None you show are the most comfortable. It’s whatever is best for that individual. It comes with time and practice.
This is so understandable. Thank you so much and god bless. I am 12 y/o and this tutorial really helped :)
For 6 months I have been stuck on learning how to do a granny square. I have been teaching myself the basics for a little over a year. The GS got me good. No video helped until today. Thank you so much for an easy to follow format. I am now on a roll!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks!
i ❤ this trick. imagine all left over yarn we can do this join. then we get a new long yarn. thank u for teaching us this trick ❤❤
❤ AMAZING ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦♥
I have been trying to learn how to do a magic circle for the last few months and this is the only tutorial that has worked for me. Thank you!
This is the @*$(#!'ing 10th video I've watched on how to make a magic loop, and the one that I was actually able to make one from. Thank you so much! Subscribed.
Wonderful video! Just a question, my SC wants to curl up, especially at the bottom end of the strand. The chain is flat but when I do the single crochet it curls. Why?
Beautiful!! Everything! The yarn choice. Her calm pretty voice. Explained soooo well. I’m a fan!!
Very good demonstration of how to make a double crochet. Using the bulky yarn and larger hook really helped to see. Thank you.
This is a wonderful tutorial. I still haven't quite managed to do it right, but it's by far the clearest and most understandable one I've found, and I still am determined to get it. Someday I shall crochet a whole shawl with little crochet flowers, but it seems that day will not be today. Or any time soon, probably. Ah well, that's what practise is for!
For something like Plastic canvas this would be perfect, a lot of extra work for my projects all in all thank you for sharing something new to me
But what do you do with the tail??? I've already managed a magic circle once but since the tail is loose idk what to do to secure it, help?
Great video
This is amazing!!!!
Much thanks and appreciation
Thank you so much now I know how to do a crochet thank you so much😊
I have a problem with the pull through idk if I have the right hook
0:36 Magic circle 3:34 starting chains
Hi Lissy, I am a beginner crocheter and have fallen in love with your videos. I just feel you do the very best at showing folks what the CYC’s best and recommended practices are. I am seaming together my very first project - a very long cardigan. I watched your video on mattress seaming. Not sure if I am describing it right but the two ends I am bringing together are chain stitch to a chain stitch. Your video has different ends coming together so the up and over is easier to understand. I would love to see how you would mattress seam together two chain stitch ends. Do you go one into the chain? How do you do the up and over? I would GREATLY appreciate your help! Thank you in advance and for all your wonderful videos!
I audibly said oh my god out loud when I finally pulled it
THANK YOUUU
I'm currently working on a c2c blanket and have been getting irritated with how my color changes are looking. I think I'm going to try this!
Is this magic?!😮😮
Oh gosh no ! Sorry I'd rather sew in ends . I prefer the magic knot ...so much quicker and not so finicky!
Amazing artistry, NOT easy, but that seems too time consuming for me! I just do the little knot and snip method🤣
This works SO well for macrame too.
