Some great starting points! I’d throw out Bendis’ all new xmen as another good entry point. That Alex Ross cover for the Lee omnibus volume one is so gorgeous it makes me consider getting it even though I know I don’t like most of those early stories
Appreciate the recommendations! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to read all of All-New X-Men! Love Bendis and have enjoyed what I’ve read of that run. I keep hoping for an omnibus

As you say there are 100 integral stories and I didn’t believe a CZcams short could handle it all ha. I selected a few of my favorites as I often do, I’m sorry they weren’t to your liking. What are some of your preferred Batman stories? I’m always game for some great new Batman recommendations
Good video 👍 I agree with everything you said except X-Men Omnibus 1. X-Men :Children of the Atom mini series by Joe Casey , Steve Rude, Paul Smith and Essd Ribic is the best starting point for the original X-Men team. Good video Dom 👍.

I don’t know how newer, younger readers view Uncanny Vol 1 (& 2) but to me they are unsurpassable. I guess it’s part nostalgia but I’ve read New and Astonishing and whilst I absolutely loved the latter (art is amazing), the feel of those earlier 2 volumes can’t be beaten. Enjoyed the start of New, and there’s some great ideas in there, but some of the later art was so ugly I just couldn’t get past it. Haven’t read HOX/POX yet
@@garyfoster65 that early uncanny stuff is wonderful it really blows me away to see how Claremont builds on everything over the decades. Appreciate your feedback and thoughts on New and Astonishing! And I do recommend HoX/PoX that book got me excited for X-men in a way I hadn’t been for awhile
Great to hear your opinions on all of these. I started reading silver age X-Men first and in moderate chunks I was able to find it enjoyable, but definitely not the strongest silver age comics. I totally understand that its not for everyone but seeing the beginnings was really fascinating to me. Waiting on the Uncanny X-Men vol.2 reprint to continue my x men reading! Hoping for the Krakoa era to be collected in omnibus format sooner than later as well!
@@saranram6007 way to go! I still need to make my way through more of the silver age X-men but agree it’s very fun to see where the characters get their start! Uncanny X-men Vol 2 omnibus is definitely a must read! Hopefully they reprint for you soon! And yeah I’ve loved what I’ve read of Krakoa would definitely double dip for Omnis
@@saranram6007 uncanny xmen vol 1 /second genesis is silver age. but vol 2 and 3 are really where the evolution of modern comics began and features the strongest writing of Claremont. imo vol 3 is where he was at his pinnacle.
@@rbaynosa you are correct. I was mentioning silver age x men as the original X-Men omnibus vol.1, since it was being compared to Fantastic 4 and Spider Man Silver age in the video. I do really enjoy the Claremont era and look forward to reading more of it.
I just started reading new x men on the weekend, I have some background knowledge but it’s hard trying to break in
@@gabrielk6324 yeah I thought once I was a few issues in I got the hang of it personally. Morrison uses a handful of pre-established characters but I found that the changes made to the status quo of franchise were such that I thought I’d make a good on-ramp for newer readers.
I love hox/pox but I don't think it's a good start point for new readers. too many characters, too many callbacks, and maybe a story that won't make much sense if you don't know where the mutants are coming from.
but If you've watched a good part of the movies or the animated series, it could work as a starting point
@@rbaynosa I like your point if you’ve seen some of films or animated properties or are generally culturally familiar with the X-men franchise HoX/PoX is more accessible. That’s a valid point 👏

I favorite is uncanny x-men I have until epic number 10. My least favorite is the silver age it’s a good starting point and story but compared to the rest it’s the weakest.
