@@PavanMS87 ugh. I’m sorry to hear that. It’s so unfortunate when you have a great form factor, great sound, but the very basic part of the mechanics is mediocre at best. I tried a pair of headphones by Bowers & Wilkins and that was the case. Great sound and comfort, but the app was beyond buggy and I don’t have the patience to wait for a potential firmware update that addresses the issues.

@@BuenoReviews yeah! And Bose did release a firmware update 4.0.2 or something, but that enables a messed up multi point connection. So if i have connected to my phone and laptop, I cannot seem to ‘ Disconnect’ on my phone, even after keeping the earbuds back in the case!! 🤬 i end up hitting forget device and need to re pair, every time. 😔 they should update the name of the TWS to Road to Ultra, as Bose is not there yet!!

@@johnspence6675 thank you so much for the compliment! I really appreciate it! in my opinion, absolutely! In fact, I’d say they’re likely designed to be used more in line with the setup you’re after rather than near-field. Plenty loud and plenty of bass to fill up a large living room.

Hey there! I’m not familiar with the amp you have, but as long as the wattage output and connections are similar to the amp I have, you should be fine! Also, you might not need an amp at all! Some people don’t have the issue with hiss like I did. If the hiss isn’t there, you’re good to go out of the box! Also, if there is a hiss, it might not even bother you.

So the way it works is you print out a form and there’s two options if they can’t repair it. Either send it back or have them send a “replacement” of equal value. But, like I said in the vid, when I called Jansport, the lady told me that even though people check the “send it back” box, sometimes they still send a replacement and destroy the bag. I imagine the volume of bags they get is a lot, so I get it. Human error happens. Oh, and they definitely don’t have any inventory of Pleasantons to send as replacements, so who knows what they would actually replace it with. That said, I’m actually curious what parts on the Pleasanton they could actually use. But regardless, that’s what I was told and I wanted to make sure owners of the Pleasanton are very careful when their bags need repairing.

I wish I felt the same, because people I know personally who have any Bose headphones LOVE the comfort. I think I just have a massive dumb head ☹️

@@BuenoReviews Yes indeed. The XM3s hold up remarkably well given how quickly ANC headphones and earbuds have progressed in the last 6 years. Their longevity has been fantastic. Hopefully the XM6s ANC is universally touted as the best ever. However, what I can give Bose credit for is their 90 day return policy. It's something Sony doesn't have.

I’ve been looking for a red tag for a while. I would like one close to new but would happily pay 500 for a reissue that has a bit better materials…but nothing else design wise should change. Best bag I ever owned, but I refuse to buy a white tag. 😂

@@chocolatewheelchair well, even with them sounding just meh out of the box, I still recommend the XM5s personally. That said, I also loved the Sennheiser Momentum 4s and the Bower & Wilkins PX7

Ear cups made comfy

They’re definitely shallow. The tips of my ears touch which I normally HATE, but for whatever reason, they’re absolutely comfortable for me. Have you checked out the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2? Those have really deep ears and sound awesome. I passed on them because the app was a little finicky and the transparency mode was terrible. Other than that, they’re amazing.

@@chocolatewheelchair you are absolutely correct. The biggest bummer about the XM5 is the headband. If they had all the functionality in the XM4 form factor, that would be the pinnacle for me.

Interesting about the M4s. They were plenty loud for me. The XM4s are great! If they didn’t give me that cabin pressure feeling, I would have chosen those over the XM5s.

@BuenoReviews Yeah, man, I'm not sure why. Maybe i got a bad set, but I ended up trading them in for the xm5s yesterday. Worlds apart as for volume and noise cancellation, but I miss the audio quality of the m4s. Guess I can't have it all lol. I have seen some online reviews that had the same problem with volume as I had, but few and far between, it seems. Maybe ill go for B&O or B&W in the future for audio quality.

Dude, EXACTLY! WHY don’t they bring it back?? Especially nowadays where heritage style is so big. It makes zero sense. Someone on Reddit who saw my video said they had no idea how much they were worth and forgot they had TWO brand new with tags in a box they got from Canada. I was so jealous. I’d love to have a brand new one as a backup. The white tag honestly sucks in comparison. Stoked you have one though! Take care of it. Make sure to condition the leather once a year ish. I just rewaxed mine for added protection.

I did and I disagree with both of your points. As I said before, comfort is subjective and they were not as comfortable as the XM5s to me. I also much prefer the sound of the XM5s especially after finding an EQ setting I really like. Thanks for leaving a comment, though!

I’d say the Momentums have the ability to have more physical bass when you turn up the EQ. Both sound very good, but I’d likely prefer the Momentums over the Ultras on sound alone. Both are great options, but considering the cost, I’d definitely go Momentum 4s as long as they’re comfortable.

@@danielfishman8687 so I did another video before this of all the headphones I bought to try. I ended up keeping the Sony XM5s. Then, when these Bose headphones came out, I wanted to try them. I still kept my XM5s. To me. They’re almost perfect minus the headband and the lack of collapsing.

@@danielfishman8687 I ended up with ultra for many reasons. To mention few, for me it has a better sound quality and better noise cancelling. Dont get me wrong, xm5 is also good sounding but it totally depends on you. In my opinion, I find xm5 too bassy, unlike ultra, the sound is much true to sound. Again, like what I have said, test both in actual before buying online. And always buy on sale! Cheers!🙂

It IS Hetfield! Hahahah! And I get it, dude. The auto ANC is actually a nightmare when you’re in an airplane idling and waiting on the tarmac. It literally freaks out. Other than that, I really don’t notice it changing much if at all. The XM4s are great. They have the comfort and the ability to fold. Also, I prefer the white/silver color on the XM4s over the 5s. Enjoy!

Really? That’s odd… I’m assuming you’re using the same 3.5mm to rca cable? I actually use a sub to 3.5mm adapter. Maybe you could try that with your Mac?

It sounds great with my MacBook and Apple TV. Sounds awesome with Vinyl.
