Hi Friend, I have the S60 and I believe I lost my gold necklace in the small center console. I've also most my credit card before - won't do that again. Can you please send a tutorial on how to remove the small center console? Please, I need that necklace back. Thanks in advance.
Nice video. Need to replace the grill on my 2012 S60. Hopefully it will be the same technique to remove and reinstall. Now I need to source a replacement grill.
Hello Seth, Thank you for this video. where did you get the Black Grill? Link? Name of the store? I do not seem to be able to find one in all-black. I need to remove mine to get some Aux high beam light and a loud horn installed. Cheers Markus
This was helpful. I want to replace my stock Volvo emblem on my XC40 with a dynamic LED emblem. The cowl on the top of the grill looks similar to mine. Thanks.
If you're not gonna sell the old grill or do something specific with it - wouldn't it just be easier to take it apart with a hacksaw. Breaking the old grill into pieces and get it out would give me more peace of mind instead of bending the bumper like that. Or am i getting it wrong?
It doesn’t come out. Mine also has the Active Shutter grille and a couple of sensors which are placed there using some torx bolts. Maybe that’s the reason.
very helpful thank you. i'm going to remove my grill, then paint the silver parts then reattach. I do wonder if there is a way to disassemble the silver parts from the black parts and just have those apart for painting rather than having to mask everything.
Hello there, does anyone knows If its possible to remove the frame from the grill after taking the grill out? I would Like to paint only the frame. Greetings from Germany ✌🏼
thanks for the vid - made me confident to give it a try. Also have the 3 T30 screws as a "goodie". Then the top and side part came loose quite easy. The bottom part was a pain however, as my car has a framed radiator. This plasic covers the bottom clips and one can't just reach them as they are invisible. This plastic was not rigid however so I could press it back towards the radiator a little. With a long and stable yet thin steel wire, the end bent to a tiny "U", I was able to insert it through the clips and lift the lower ones. when properly lifted, the clips pop easy. The bumper needed to be bent quite a lot and I'm glad I have thin forearms (now scratched...). So, all I can say, check carefully and be prepared. It's doable, but not that easy depending on your model.
@@dozperroz34 they deleted it again even though it's not a violation of community guidelines so I suspect it's the channel owner doing it. Contact your local Volvo retailer and they'll confirm it's the correct part for your car.
Hi Seth. Thanks so much for this. Just got an s60 black edition but got the wrong grill on it (bright version). Long story. Now I’m looking to buy/install the black edition grill, and this is going to help so much. Curious what you did with the old grill. I’m not thrilled about buying a $400 part for a brand new car but I just need to have it haha. Was thinking maybe plasti dip will be enough, but looks like you thought the same too at one point.
Dealer ended up replacing the grill for us (to the black edition grill). But from what we can tell they basically did exactly what Seth did in this vid.
Thanks for this video, I've just finished replacing my front grille on my V60. Mine has a 360 cam that I needed to disconnect. Also there where 3 (I think PDC) sensor which were fixed with T30 torx screws true the bumber tot the grille. So I also needed to remove these.
Thanks for the video. I had a box fly out in front of me and broke the emblem off the front and cracked part of the grille. This saved me $600 in labor the dealer wanted to charge. I actually didn’t have to remove the top cover as the hole in the grille gave me access to pop all tabs.
think it would be the same process for a v60 cc with the camera on the grill?

How do you do it on the older s60? I want to replace my grill on my 2011 s60.
how much did you pay for the grill and where did you buy it
The electric cars may be fast but they are completely soulless
Well, they don't have human shoes, so there aren't any cars that have soles.
@@roflepiclol you are so right 🤣 souls
Because I hate it when I'm guaranteed of a car that won't breakdown for it's lifespan.
@@Drakesy you can’t possibly mean this ! 7-10 years and you have to replace the battery for £30-40k each time ! No thanks
@@Drakesy There's a video of a tesla out there w/ 1mil miles
Does this work on a v90?
Thank you sir!🫡
👏👏👏👍👌 Excellent tutorial How long did it take to remove ?
Sell your old grill?

Worked out great for me! My only suggestion is to have a second set of hands to help you maneuver the opening and to do two clips at the same time.

What year is to ur car ? I have a 2020 S60 T6 polar engineered. I want to make sure this grill will fit on my car.
Dude, you should definitely do more clips like this one. Easy to follow and understans. Thanks a bunch. 👏🏼
Video starts at 2:20
Thx!!
Because nobody cares about a Volvo or its grill lmao thats why you cant find a video to help you remove it 😂😂😂😂
Having a lot of trouble getting the grille to pop out. Can't get any of the clips. Using a long flathead screwdriver. Any tips?
Bro!!!! You have no idea how much you helped me out God bless bro good looking out
Welp after a few hours, I successfully unclipped the top sides but was impossible to fit my hand under that flap to get the bottom clips 😢
Awesome! Just what i have been looking for, thanks fella.

Man, that looks 👍🏽 good
Thanks! Is it just me or is your paint waxed like crazy, what did you use to get it so shiny?
Thanks for the video. Greetings from germany

Brilliant Thank you 👍😀

Youre a champ. Im going to get the same grille, or the all black one. Same car though :P Thank you for posting this
Will this also work for a 2017 V40 ?
Is it much the same process for a v60?
Nice black. My S60 T8 Recharge doesn't have a front fog-lamp. How sad...
Seth thanks for adding to the story of DIY Volvo guys.

Yes you can remove the frame but you would have to take off the entire grill beforehand :)

Can you tell me what tool you used to remove the 3 T30 screws behind the grill?
@@tomstapleton9536 I did use an L-shaped torx screwdriver, a looot of patience and a little acrobatics...
Great explanation. Thank you. Really useful
If anyone looking for the new Black Edition grill for your SPA S60 w/front camera, the part# is 32378244.
It doesn't call out "black" as the color on the volvo site. How do I know that it is?

Thanks, I was almost not going to buy a new grille before I saw this hack! What year is this?
2019 s60.
Part number for grill please!!! Thanks in advance!
can you put that grille on the inscription s60 also?
Cool! No front camera on s60? I have s90 and i guess it is a same procedure but for disconnecting camera cable
My absolute biggest concern is why you are walking around in socks in your garage. It boggles my mind
maybe the garage floor was cold? :)
Is that not normal? LOL
Maybe the floor was not too cold so he did not need slippers ;-)

Great video. I want to just wrap the central logo. From what you’ve seen can that come off without taking the grill off?
