From you having flown both gliders and fixed-wing microlight aircraft I’m interested in getting your opinion: which is easier to land? Yours truly, microlight trainee who’s struggling like hell to land.
They both have their easy and hard parts.... With an engine it gives you a choice. Without..... Well, that's less to worry about. Some microlights are easy to fly and and land some aren't.... It's the same with gliding.
Gliders are easier to land than powered aeroplanes except for the one tiny difference of you have to get it right first time every time. No go around in a glider. But truthfully there's not much difference in difficulty between them, just different controls and different methods But you'll get there with landings, one day it'll just click.
@@benhilsenrath8093 Yeah, I imagined that would be the case. I can see having airbrakes as well as not having an engine or nosewheel to worry about breaking could overall make the process somewhat less stressful, but of course on the other hand, no opportunity to go-around. Hope you are right on the “one day it’ll just click” but not holding my breath unfortunately.
@@YouHaveControl Fair enough, thanks for answering. It’s the C42 I’m learning on, which I’m assuming you have some experience in as I’ve seen it in your videos. Supposed to be one of the easiest microlights, and for the most part I’ve loved flying it, but I’m quickly losing hope I’ll ever be able to do it with the difficulties I’ve had learning to land.

What about thermals in this hot weather.. I’m finding it very difficult to maintain level flight especially downwind in a circuit, as it’s only a short run. My instructor is getting very fed up with me. I’m up and down like a yo yo!

Hahahaha... Your journey montage includes a trip the wrong way across the Queensferry Crossing (ie, your clip shows you travelling North to South whereas Portmoak is North of the Forth). I fly past Portmoak quite frequently.

Have just had my 2nd lesson on the c42 and I'm finding these invaluable. Really good for refreshing after the flights. I find I can take it in better when the pressure of flying isn't there. Thank you.

I am doing microlight pilot training. My CFI keeps on telling me that I am not able to hold the yoke. Either I keep pushing and pulling or banking to left and right. It is happening unconsciously is there any tips to fix this issue. I just want to practice hold in the process of P.A.H.T
