why was it canceled ? because they tried to make it politically correct and turned it to garbage ! the screen writer should have been fired and blacklisted ! the books were great , the tv series was total trash !

I loved the first season but the second season was...not great. I really was disappointed, because the first season was sooo good IMO and I really was looking forward to seeing more.

Recently with the success of Austin Butler I have watched episode 1 and 2 and wish that series 3 would been completed. It would have had massive success‼️ What a waste 😥 I think the promotion of this was very poorly handled. I knew nothing about this until Austin's success and wanting to know everything he was in as MANY of his fan's would have loved.

I can tell you 100% why it didn't work. Allanon the main character was cast as a short Latino which isn't even close to the book. Allanon was a 6'10" tall white dude with "LONG" hair and a "BEARD." You can put all the Latinos in the show that you want but to fu@# up the casting of the main character? Big fu@#ing mistake. I'm surprised Terry Brooks didn't say no fu@#img way to that!

I understand For me worked better another variance - at first I watched movies or shows, then red the books As per usual, I liked books more than movies. Those are enough different kinds of art, if you wish so. To "translate" book to movie is not easy, and really gifted we're able to do so, but looking back those are a few lucky ones. Thank you

This happened to Legend of the Seeker show too - people are often angry, that the adaptation is not 100% accurate, but why? It's a different format, the books are still there to read. I love the show and the books. It's still my favourite fantasy show, I was hoping to find something similar, so I binge-watched Shannara in the past week. I have a lot of problems, but ultimately I finished it, and wish for more. That hasn't happened in years to me. I'm watching your videos to fill the void. Hope to see the other 'positive' half of this video some day. Thanks for the videos!

Me and my wife loved the 1st season of the TV series as it was a cool blend of future and fantasy elements that we enjoyed. (Note we never read the books and never had the opportunity to read them) when season 1 ended we could wait for season 2 to come around and when it did it felt like a different TV series all together and some of the stuff they did felt forced rather than being part of the story. We only got halfway (or 1/3 honestly can't remember since it was years ago) through season 2 before we both lost interest in the series as a whole and never came back to it. We were bummed how they changed the characters and how they dragged out the story. Maybe one day we might finish it to see if we judged too harshly, but based on what I've been hearing so far, it's probably for the better to just read the books than jump back into the series

season 1 felt great for me eretrea amberle and wills relationship was really worth a watch and you got awesome written characters like arion, eventine and the gnomes, cabhelo to. overrall it was a great season some things couldve changed but it was good. And the acting was kinda good to.Then we get to season 2 were it felt like everyone was just a side character somebody died =nobody cared at all. there was just to much going on everybody was dying left and right. first we got brandon his relationship with allanon was worth watchin then he gets killed of in the stupidest way by the warlock like brandon a wasted character. The acting felt stupid. You got riga cool villian gets killed instantly. Warlock felt boring ing unlike the the dagda mor. Overall s1 was great s2 just sucked

Reboot Shannara as a movie and it would NOT be connected to the TV series which aired on both MTV and then-Spike for two seasons.

I think everyone wants Shanara Chronicles season 3 to get going. It's a total bummer if the story doesn't continue. The show must go on. And if a tv network don't take it then it's a lost for them. Coz the story is good. 10/10 from me.

This series had become one of my favorites years ago, with Allanon being one of my favorite characters.

I was prepared to say all of this before seeing your video. It's a melancholy sort of glad to hear you agree on this. For me, the show was far too blatant with the putting forward the idea of the world they are in. Brooks Shannara series hinted at these things from Sword on forward, but without making it a obvious certainty till the Heritage books. I had always suspected, but the events dealing with Walker Boh in the Heritage books solidified that suspicion. With the show, they just come right out and trot it out as if to say, "Here ya go, isn't this a neat idea and a cool reason to like our show?" - which had me immediately feeling deflated and wanting to turn it off. Nothing in the Elfstones which the shows first season was "loosely" based on ever had anything like remaining street signage etc, which they used in the show. It was one hundred percent a turnoff for me and reason enough to stop watching. I don't know how involved Brooks was with the show, or if those in charge of the show had actually read the books, but it felt like Brooks was not at all involved (and it wouldn't have helped me enjoy it if I found out he had been) and it felt like the showrunners had read a synopsis about the setting from a website before deciding key directions the show would take. Arborlorn didn't have to be rebuilt though. The other racial groups and various kingdoms of men however, spot on. Those needed centuries to develop, some had come and gone. An entire society had risen and fallen in the time since man had scraped themselves back up out of the dust of apocalypse. There are very few buildings even remaining, you glimpse some small ruins and a left over robot things of some sort early on in The Sword of Shannara, but the description of it is only enough to hint that there was a civilization in the past that had fallen, which Allanon had already made clear in his fairly vague explanations. Also note: I couldn't hear the dog barking 😂 tl;dr - The show was canceled cause it was bad. Just bad. Had it not been bad and had good ratings, perhaps that last network would have kept it alive.

I want to see a shannara chronicle season 3 and I want to see will falling in love with Eretria and kiss and getting married and ending together at the end of the serie pleasee i am still waiting for season 3 in 2023 and also if they make a season 3 I want to see will and Eretria being endgame and having kids like in the books.

who ever ruined the Shannara chronicles is a dumb ass. the first mistake was changing from mtv to spike. many people didn't have access to that channel or were aware of that change. that is the main reason for the fan fallout not because it wasn't a good series. Its a "cult classic" now meaning it ages well and gains popularity over time like the princess bride. The rights holders need to let it up so someone else can make it or get their crap together and make Shannara season 3!!!

Great to finally see a video on this! I was so excited, and then so disappointed with this show. Great explanation, especially for those who didn't read the books. You put all my frustrations into words very eloquently. "I just went and took a nap, okay lets go!" LOL

They switch to Spike, and then it changed to the paramount channel. Hopefully Netflix or Apple plus will take it .

Let's say you and some other people went to a restaurant. Then someone in the group does something to get you all banned from the restaurant for life and they take your picture then you leave. Now let's say 20+ years has passed and the restaurant is still there but you want to go there. Unless that's a pure family ran restaurant in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I hardly think anyone there will remember you after enough time has passed after all how people looks changes.

The Ellcrys Staff also enhanced Allanon's Magic in the book, The Elfstones Of Shannara, by amplifying his Druids Fire. The sword was an insulting gimmick in the tv series. The Staff's only purpose was to assist Allanon in defeating the Dagda Mor. Dagda in the Celtic language means "Good God" and is the name of the chief of the Celtic deities. The word "Mor" is most commonly defined as meaning "Die, Decay, or Death". Also, the Dagda Mor was NOT a Druid whom had been sent to the Forbidding but a powerful demon unrelated to either the Druids or Brona. While Terry Brooks was oft accused of creating The Shannara Series as plagerism of The Lord Of The Rings, it certainly was not. Like so many other fantasay series having similar characters, it is better seen and might have been better portrayed as an early Dungeons & Dragons adventure story, though TSR had no connection to Mr. Brooks. Allanothers inon survives to nearly 600 years old through use of his "Druid Sleep" magic finally giving his life to protect others in his hand-to-hand and magic battle against the demon known as a "Jachyra" Allanon enchants the Sword Of Leah giving a magicla tool to those he travels with in their quest!! It would be some 350 years later when a descendent of the Ohmsfords and Bohs, Walker, finds he controls numerous powerful magics and eventually takes on the mantle of DRUID. Unfortunately due to poor and unfocused writing by the author and perhaps a failure to read his own writing, He does NOT give Walker his due which would be to become the Spirit of The Hadeshorn, using Allanon to continue in the role erroneously until Grianne eventually takes over, also wrongly!!! At this point Brooks writings, as the televeision series, apparently become more about making money than coherency of the stories and legends, and the series shortly thereafter comes to a conclusion. The period during which the entirety of the Shannara Series take place is approximately, from the beginning of the Bearers Of The Black Staff to the last book of The Fall Of Shannara-The Last Druid, is approximately 7,500 years in duration of the stories.
