Got this engine for free. Engine was on a boat that was left to the doc for hole winter and got saltwater in it. Worked on this several days, few hours at once. Overall maybe 10-12h.

The specific model is hotpoint ariston WMG 642 SK. Other than the bearing failure, im happy with the machine. 9 years old and the price was 400€ The new bearings and seal i purchase local industry shop, that sells quality stuff. The seller replaced the stainless steel spring to the seal, just have to ask and pay 1-2€ extra.
Buying a cheap boat and fixing badly running engine.

My main goal was get the boat running and driving condition, with a small budget. And i think i succeed. I am not saying this is the right or correct method to repair an engine. But just wanted to show that this it how i did it. The sales ad said "broken engine", but when i go to see the boat, the seller (deceased estate) said that it runs, but it is puffing to the inlet manifold.

both has a aftermarket piston, but in sthil has a aftermarket cylinder too. might influense to the performanse, the quality was'nt great. But it is, what you pay for. 45€ piston cylinder.

Drill is bosch gbh 8-45. Drillbit 22mm (from biltema) 15cm deep hole take about 1 minute. The stone is granite, i prosume.

Taking the "loose" out make a huge differense, atleast in a cheap gun (this is a 30€ makita copy). And if you have to use extension/adapters, even a good, powerful gun looses its power in all the clearenses of each joint.

8way wedge and low, 100 bar pressure. Hole frame bend so much, so i reinforsed the frame.

welded some scrap metal and other shit together and this is the result. Need still some changes, mostly whit the lifter (too weak) and blade adjustmet, weak also. Eikä toi ritiläkään oikeen toimi, puut menee ohi.

Why have a lift if you already are lifting logs around kinda defeats the purpose of having one....but all said it's a good build 👍👌🇨🇦
😅 True. Actually havent use the lift too much. One time even tought that that was a waste of time to build it. But then again, this winter splitted some large birch and then it is nice to have lift when one peace weight is 40-80kg. And there is pritty obvious desing flaw. The splitting operation handle is on the other side than the lift. You can reach it, but litlle unplesent to use like that. The handel sould have been center of the machine.

How many gallons per minute is the pump? What tonnage is the ram? And how many horsepower are the electric motors? I want to geek out on the details
Hi, overall flow is 23l/min, so about 6 gallons. The motors are 3kw each, so total power 6kw. I dont no exact diameter of the piston, guessing 125mm, cylinder outer diameter is 140mm. So at max pressure 210bar the force is about 25 metric tons.

Sorry, not for sale. And if i charge even 10€/h for work, it would be too expensive. There is a lots of commercial manufacturer, that makes good and better machines. Eastonmade for example.. And there is safety issues too, this certainly dot fill regulations.

Mutta ku ite tekee, saa sitä mitä tulee 😄 isolle puulle pelaa kyllä hyvin, pienemmälle puulle tarttis olla eri terä, mutta sitten taas turhan hidas. Giljotiinikone olisi hyvä kaveri tuolle, jolla menis pienemmät puut nopeaan.

Will it split hardwoods?
Hi, i really cant say. 95% of the wood that i split is birch, alder, spruce and pine. Here, in Finland we dont have much hardwood. And when we do have, it is tought to be too valuable to "waist" burning. This oak was strike by lightning and we make table out of it. photos.app.goo.gl/gPbHAs4gG3dUWhir9
