    Bought a brand new Trane in 9/22. Trane unit was manufactured in 9/22. Panama Florida plant orgin. Model 4WCC4030A1000AB Lasted 30 days then quit. Called Trane authorized dealer that sold/installed unit. Took him 11 months to come back out. No heat during winter/ no AC during summer, 11 months no service,no show. Finally comes out and tells me unit has defective coil, will have to be replaced. Repair man tore brand new AC unit apart in yard. Brand new in pieces, 30 days of service,now scattered across yard. He was not happy , and neither was I. Fast foward 90 days ,and I hear some one drilling on my AC unit outside. I go to window ,but can see no one. I walk outside to find 2 new holes drilled into side of hvac unit... Exactly 9 11/16 from edge....Exactly where new coil had just been replaced!!!!!!! Over $5,000 for a Trane unit that operated less than 100 days total. Then was sabotaged by someone who knew exactly where the coil is sitting behind panel cover. Called 1800Trane and asked if installer had been reimbursed for labor,on the warranty claim on the defective unit. Or did he not get paid for work,and now wants revenge. Trane would not answer. Called cops,they said oh well,no witnesses, no case.

    Hi, What are the normal min/max temps for a 12,000 BTU inverter mini split compressor?.. What temps the actual metal it's made of gets to I mean. Has anyone tried using those Butyl sound deadening pads (that are used on cars) on a compressor, and or, insides of the case on the outdoor unit?.. Apparently Butyl pads can "withstand temperatures as low as -75°F (-50°C) and as high as 250°F (120°C)". I want to quiet it down a bit. I've got one of the rectangle type mini splits, not the big American types, so there won't be a lot of room, probably nowhere near enough to use a compressor sound jacket thing - but maybe enough to slap some Butyl pad material on it.

    • @hvacwithdrewman98
      @hvacwithdrewman98 Před 6 měsíci

      Not sure of the minimum maximum temps… mini splits are usually very quiet.. if the outside unit is mounted on the wall..( air brace ) made install rubber isolation pads in between the unit and the support bracket

    • @Lloyd.B.
      @Lloyd.B. Před 6 měsíci

      @@hvacwithdrewman98 Ah OK. No one seems to know the normal temps of compressors. Yeah, the outdoor unit is on a concrete block with rubber mounts. When I first turned it on there was some component touching the outer case on the outdoor unit which made a horrid rattling noise. I had to take the top off and pry whatever it was back enough to shove some dense foam in-between it and the case. I'll open it up properly soon and see if I can bend whatever that is back away from the wall - it might help shut it up.

    • @hvacwithdrewman98

      @@Lloyd.B. the temperature of the compressor is really the discharge temp and each manufacturer has its own.. but when the discharge temp climbs above 250 you start breaking down the oil inside

    • @Lloyd.B.
      @Lloyd.B. Před 6 měsíci

      @@hvacwithdrewman98 Thanks, so it’s highly unlikely a rightly working compressor would go above 250F. What about normal discharge temp minimums - roughly?.. I have no clue, I imagine when it’s heating it will get hot, and cooling it will get cold. I imagine when the gas gets to the evaporator it's never going to be -50F, but for all I know it could get that cold in the compressor.

    • @hvacwithdrewman98
      @hvacwithdrewman98 Před 6 měsíci

      @@Lloyd.B. heat pumps… doesn’t matter if it’s heat cooling.. the compressor always pulls low pressure and pumps out high pressure.. higher the pressure the higher the temperature… depends on how hot / cold the home is… if it’s low on charge ( Freon) the higher he discharge temperature would be
