goosebumps.
Las voces de maría Tony y de rita moreno en la original fueron cantadas por otros ellos solo hicieron mímica. La de Steven todos cantan!!!
I like Steven version
The 1961 version is THE West Side Story! This film can’t be remade just as Gone with the Wind couldn’t. The original is a masterpiece, a classic and reflects the time it was made in portraying the era superbly. The aerial photography of NYC is magnificent
❤❤❤😊😊😊
A perfect illustration of why Spielberg should have kept his hands away from this iconic masterwork. The original version put this whole scene on a rooftop at night. Not only did this create a perfect atmosphere but it also gave a vibe of spontaneity and improvisation. The 2021 version instead brought this whole event down at street level and into the bright sunlight. Not a glimpse of spontaneity but an orchestrated dance event that at moments had the feel of a political manifestation. Just like the whole 2021 version actually. If you insist in creating entertainment to convey political messages, at least do so in your own original work. Instead of hijacking masterworks of the past.
I rate the two balcony scenes even
素晴らしい
Interesting. Shaksphere stole this whole plot.
WOW. You've done an amazing service to both productions - these super cuts are simply masterful. Bravo. (and subscribed....keep 'em coming!)
I know she's universally hated now, but i don't care, Rachel Ziegler was breathtaking in every scene. She captures that innocence and wide eyed optimism of young love so perfectly. The only thing i didnt like in the remake was Tony. Dont get me wrong i like Ansel egelhart (or however you say his name). He was great in baby driver, The fault in their Stars, etc. But he just didn't do it for me. While Rita Moreno is an ICON, Ariana DeBose did an amazing job, earning her every bit of that Oscar. And Spielbergs camera shots and direction are pure movie magic. The remake got some bad press, and was declared a flop the day after it came out because it didn't set box office records even though it came out on Christmas. But if you didn't watch it, and you like the original, you really should give this a chance
I will only say: thanks for editing out the duck, chicken or whatever is called that weird movement in the 61 version for the Jet girls. 😁😁
I’m playing this song for my band in a few days and it’s fuckin awesome
The Red head in the RED DRESS ALWAYS kept my attention in this scene. Her n Rita Moreno KILLED IT!!!!!!
I see and feel the fire in both performances. That's what makes it hot!
Brilliant edit! I felt like I was in the world of West Side Story, past and present!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you life in the United States 🇺🇸 between years 2021-2024. 🎀
No one notice a gang of lads walking with bats and chains and pipe and didn’t call the coppers
Both movies were epic and delightful. Well made was the remake. In spite of everything, the remake was well crafted and gave a new generation an appreciation of the classic story.
I have the Video.
Brilliant!
Both Ariana and Rita were stupendous for their role as Anita. The sassiness, the sheer amount of talent, the beauty, the elegance, their dancing, and just their smiles alone really makes the character shine. And if you ask me, Rita Moreno looks as beautiful today as she did back in the 60s. Everyone else featured in both variations were stupendous, as well.
Jeez, I've watched this easily four or five times and still get goosebumps at the final sequence showing everyone from both movies. Really, really well done.
Natalie Wood - a rare beauty - captivating
The original: Superior choreography and pacing that really builds to a climax that still gives goosebumps. But tacky set design. New version, filmed at actual gym and looks great, wonderful costumes. But, choreography can't match the original and the choice to highlight Chino just when the music and dancing duel should be reaching a climax was a very poor decision. The duet behind the bleachers was actually very nice until Maria kisses Tony abruptly, Maria would not have done that, another bad choice by Spielberg. The new version was beautifully filmed and the singing was awesome, but there were so many "odd" choices made by Spielberg, and the choreography just can't match the original. If only the original looked as gorgeous as the remake and had the great singing of the remake.
The new Jets Cheerleaders...very brave.
1961, please. No comparison - although the recent movie isn’t bad.
no more comments in year? Aye, Carumba!
The finale from about 2:32 on is my favorite part. I love it because it's complicated. You have the lovers and the gangs singing in counterpoint with each other; its brilliant.
The leads are stupendous, but their supporting cast of dancers helps them look that way. What terrific ensemble work.
2021 was excellent but they were trying to improve on perfection and it can't be done.
I like the America in the 2021 version better. Overall I loved them both
give me the original any day
genius then and now and always!
1961!
Can't stop watching @1:50
DAVID HIPPERSON YOU LIKE NOT I. LOVE YOU MICHAEL
hate the remake, didn't need to be done
Both can not be compared, sorry. The 60s version is mystical and magical
Because Rita and Arianna did a superb job playing the same character in the same musical. That's why!!!.
I like bothe the 1961 version and 2021 . Bothe r unique in their own way.
Movie " The Star is Born " I believe it was remade 5 times . It's done to alot of movies , not just musicals. Who knows why. Yes we do : Money !!!.
Nice supercut, and the 2021 remake is just as good as the 1961 original. But why spent 100 million dollars on a remake thats just as good as? I would today enjoy watching the 1961 version if I were not aware of that remake.
Celle de l'année 1961 était un vrais beau spectacle
Just beautifully executed!
Holy crap, is that perfect.
I love this mambo toon, so uplifting, well done my lovely gorgeous Lenny Bernstein, ill still be listening to this into my old age ha ha!!
This is a fantastic piece of editing. My ONLY negative comment is you should have given credit to Marni Nixon for being Natalie Wood's singing voice in 1961. She was also Audrey Hepburn's singing voice in My Fair Lady.
AMAZING AMAZING WORK
Ariana❤❤❤❤
