Hey, glad I can be helpful. Price will be different in different areas, in this area it is very rocky and utilities need to be deeper to prevent freezing so that brings the price up compared to a sandy warm climate. This area if hiring a contractor the excavation of the house site and running utilities would be around $18k and the ICF foundation would be around $13k and if you had a builder build the house it would be about $250-$300 per sqft. If you went with a concrete pad instead of a crawlspace you would build the forms for the outside edge of the pad and then the water and drain pipes would be measured and installed inside the forms. The measurements have to be exact so the pipes will come up in the right location, such as in a wall, or the right place for a toilet. Once pipes are in rebar would be placed inside the foundation form and concrete can be poured and finished. Then you get to start framing! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This took about 7 days. 2 days for clearing the trees and 5 to excavate the site and install utilities. This house is 2 people working. Water/sewer pipe and electric cable came to $1200, sand and gravel was $1230 and equipment rental was $4500

Here we use wireless internet. But I do install the cable inside the walls and attic to make it easy for the installer.

I'm not sure how foundations are vented in different areas, but here we put vents in the rim board. That's the board that sits on top of the foundation that the floor joists are attached to. I'll show it in the next video

Thank you. Yes definitely need a window to face the mountains. Once in awhile we will see a mountain lion, black bears pretty often, coyotes daily, bobcats, deer and elk hang around here, never seen a wolf.

It is a really cool tool!

On this floor the joist span is short so blocking in-between isn't needed. For the plumbing it was all put in once the house was up and dried in, so under the floor is all the water lines and drain pipes

It is semi permanent, it won't rub off and it's very hard to wash off

Thanks! I wish it took 30 min but seven months wasn't too bad.

With the climate so dry here waterproofing isn't really needed, and we installed gutters to keep the little moisture we do get away from the foundation.

Great work by all, why was the tree at the front not cut down or trim the branch that's hanging over the roof off?

@christinawarbrooke213 it was the largest and oldest tree on the property and there were many times it was in the way but we wanted to leave it to hide the house from view of the street
