It runs at 1024x720 and then upscaled to the highest value you have selected on the XMB. I'm my case it upscales to a full 1080p. There are few games that use the 4:3 aspect ratio you mentioned, like the Yakuza games since Yakuza 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 also runs at 1024×768 (4:3) There's also Virtua Fighter 5 that runs at 1024×1024 (they kept the arcade resolution there instead or adjusting) and then it's resized to 1280×720.

Let it be known that this is one of the all time greats. The last Tiger-covered game. It has a great soundtrack, and there is an emphasis on the history of the game. I actually listen to most of the songs whenever I listen to piano/classical music. Some other all time greats: - MWI - MWII - Assassin’s Creed I - Gran Turismo 4
