It’s a KTM design issue from like 12 or 13 to like 16 I think then they redesigned it to make the system better. I believe just over time stuff gets in there and it just gets dirty and gunked up!

That was Open B, I believe I finished 4th on the day. I got moved up to A now but not racing currently so no I won’t be there this weekend but have fun! It’s a good one!

They won’t move you up just for the event if that’s what your saying, you would have to have a high enough pvr score through the AMA to get bummed up and that only happens at the end of the year. You would get a letter in the mail for the AMA. You’ll be fine for the race, sounds like your right where you belong!

Anywhere from 2:30-4pm I’d say depending on what row you are on and your skill level. It makes for a long day but many many riders travel from 3-4 hours away for each round of the series and make it all happen in a day trip. We are about 2.5 hours from the race location for reference. Definitely should check it out! It would probably be best to come the night before and camp or get a hotel near by because it’s always an early morning on race days and would probably make the day more enjoyable for you, but like I said many guys do it all in a day and just come Sunday morning!

@@jasonmcpherson05 yeah, I didn’t run my the first round but during the race I saw like 20 people with them on there helmets so I ran my chin mount after that. Never had an issue with someone saying something, nor have I ever seen it be an issue for someone else so hard to say!

Could be the starter.. might be worth a shot, I think they are only like $100. The new battery fixed mine for the most part, electric start is currently working but cranks slow at first. After riding for awhile it seems to work pretty well. This older electric start system is definitely outdated and lacking compared to the new bikes. Definitely has some design flaw.

@@lancecomstock4824 I pulled the starter apart and cleaned the brushes. Still does the same thing, the battery was dropping to like 4-5 volts while cranking. I am going to try a battery from my crf450x that starts that bike no problem.

@@david92xj sounds good, keep me posted on how that goes. I’m curious too now that you say that. I have a new beta and I wonder how the lithium battery would do in the ktm!

@@lancecomstock4824 even if the battery was okay, I wonder if a junk starter trying to spin the motor over, but not able to because it's just old would strain the electrical system that hard. I may try swapping the batteries tonight, I'll keep you posted

My 2012 does this same exact thing. Slow crank like it's a bad battery, but I have a new lithium in mine. Any updates on fixes?

2013, you have to drain the oil because you are taking off the engine case and it will leak out unless you lay the bike on its side.

@@lancecomstock4824 it’s not like a 4 stroke, the combustion chamber is separate to the gearbox/transmission. You don’t have to drain the oil as there is no oil in the combustion chamber plus there is a seal on the crankshaft so nothing would come out
