Great helped me find problem with headlights on a 19 Ram thanks

Local here. Those gates typically open September 1st and are open until the first of the year, sometimes a bit longer. I wouldnt skate gares though, USFS has wireless cameras and theyll get your plate number, send you a ticket/court date and tresspass you for a year-some times longer, its all up to the judge. Best to wait for the gates to open. Ive been tempted myself, several times, but in the end, its just not worth it. Great video though

I am so grateful for you making this video. After two days of darkness, I finally had time today my light panel off (I slipped while entering the truck and my knee faces in the bruins of the light dial). Just like yours, my back plate was not even connected to the area with the rotary dials. It was super simple to reconnect it thanks to this video. Who knows what a mechanic would've charged me. All it cost me with this is about 10-20 minutes of my time. Thank you.

so should you not put grease back on contacts when installing new switch ?

Thanks much. I work on a military installation and am required to dim lights for gate guards. After buying this used truck off the lot last night, I realized this morning that could not turn off my headlights. This took 10 min in the driveway. Awesome.

Great video! I’m sitting here in the dark in my truck and wanted to turn the headlights off, and realized they would not turn off. I pulled this video up and I literally just reached down and gently pulled the panel off with my fingers. if you reach in on the right side between the panel and the steering wheel, it will come loose if you’re careful without tools . Sure enough that panel had popped off the back of the switch! I popped it back on and I’m back in business. Thanks!

Jeeze. My headlight/fog lights/bed light haven't worked for about 5 months and I just got back from getting an oil change where I asked them to diagnose this. They looked at my fuses (which I'd already done) and said everything looked fine there but I'd need to schedule a follow up appointment to diagnose the electrical issue. I watched this, grabbed my panel tools, popped off the panel, and in literally less than 30 second popped the back plate of the swtich on. It had popped off like everyone elses - but interestingly enough, mine had two pieces of tape on it as well as if this had happened before! Thank you!!!!

Thank you so much! My 2019 ram 1500 has had dash lights flickering for a long time now and I have found my running lights and tail lights coming on and off with no one in the truck. My dealer couldn’t help me because they “ couldn’t get it to happen “ out of frustration I posted my truck on you tube. Searching you tube for some help I found your video. I pulled my switch out and did exactly what you did and so far ( it’s been a few days ) my problems are gone. I used to get my dash lights to flicker just by turning my light switch from auto to manual and now can’t get them to flicker at all. I’m hoping my problem is solved so far so good. Again thank you! I hope this helps someone else.

man you saved me a ton of time! i banged the switch with my knee getting in the truck and the bed and fog light switches wouldn’t go in or out and the knob was unresponsive. i thought i had hours ahead of me taking apart my dash. I removed the switch cover and sure enough, the back switch cover had popped off the the main switch panel. thanks!!!

Thanks sir! It looks like the previous owner of my truck lost the back side track pieces for the dials..spinning the dials did nothing. The light dial is pretty beat up too but now I know how to get it going at least.

Thought that road looked familiar. You mentioned Grandfather mountain, you rode your bike up that road? Not sure i could, went up it in a car years ago, all you see is sky out the windshield. 😮

I'm at the same crossroads. Sell with old tires, or get new. I'm deciding on replacing them since I have to rebuild the front forks anyways. Even if I didn't I might worry about liability if something was to happen. Depends on how bad they are..😅

Your post is awesome ! I popped mine off. The case was open and clearly the problem. The grease wasn’t even in the correct spots. All fixed now and in less time than it took to drop it off for warranty work. Dealing with new car problems confirms I should just keep getting used. Unbelievable how Ram does such horrible assembly. Makes me concerned about the rest of my truck.

Hey, glad to see another video. I did want to mention that I did pass through the road block and continued through to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, I passed two runners on the trail. I'm thinking it's been set aside for hikers. As you exit to turn left on the Parkway there is also another road block sign to keep vehicles from entering. If I recall correctly it's not very long maybe 5-10 miles. thanks for posting
