Years ago my job required me to get to a terminal in the lower level. They took me through the doors you exited to the upper level and I went down to the platform and crossed the tracks to the opposite side where I found the terminal. I think there were MTA workers down there too. It’s strange being on the tracks when trains are passing the switch going to the upper level.

@@arielgonzalez5296 That service does not count. There are only 4 trains per weekday, it might as well not exist. I want the F to serve there permanently just like how it did before they abandoned the burned platform, so that we can get rid of the reverse branch.

Take ANY train along Queens Boulevard and disembark at Roosevelt Avenue. The abandoned section is above the active platforms.

What line runs through that station
It was the Long Island Railroad. The station was built circa 1930 and it was a program to put the line to Brooklyn underground until it reached Flatbush Avenue. It was discontinued in the 1970s because very few people used the station and instead took the subway to Manhattan. That is why you see no florescent lights in the station like other subway stations.

What a mess! If this could be run like a business, the first thing that would happen is to clean this mess the fuck up!!! No pride, no care, total lack of effective management. Maybe a lack of funding. Just really no excuse for this.
