Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun (UTBBYS) is an instrumental post-rock band which was created since 13th of August, 2007 in Bandung, Indonesia. With a same taste of music, they agreed to make an instrumental post-rock band.
Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun's music is a reflection of their daily life. Happy, sad, grateful, desperate, depressed, anger, that’s all reflected from their music arrangemen.
UTBBYS don't want to be glued with the post-rock pattern that's identically with gloomy and monotones sound. UTBBYS do some experiment and sound exploration many times. Bow's applications sounds exploration with various guitar effects using ambient sound and also experimental bell become the character of UTBBYS.

Celebrating Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day, IDEABAKERS initiated a collaboration with 2 local artists, Wanggi Hoed and Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun. The theme of this collaboration is Freedom of Expression. In this 5 minutes length video, Wanggi Hoed as a mime artist makes movements to respond to nature and surroundings, accompanied by enchanting music from Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun or UTBBYS with the BrightLight as its title.
BrightLight has a deep meaning for UTBBYS. It’s about the return of a human being to a bright spot after going through the lowest point in life. However, UTBBYS does not force the audience to have the same impression, instead, they let the listeners interpret from different point of view... IDEABAKERS and Wanggi Hoed interpret this song as a passion for free expression in various forms.
From the collaboration, IDEABAKERS together with Wanggi Hoed and UTBBYS hope to encourage everyone to have the courage to voice their opinions and express themselves; not only to benefit oneself but also to participate in building a more resilient Indonesia.
